Leviticus  18:21-25  I Will Toss You Out

Intro:   Players, coaches and managers get kicked out of games all the time.  The reason they get kicked out is that they have crossed the lines established by acceptable behavior principles.   Leviticus chapter 18 contains a list of sexual sins.  Sexual sins are especially heinous because they take something that God uses to procreate humanity, a good thing, a holy thing and perverts it.  The land itself suffers from our sins.  God raises up nations and put nations down.  Always because of their sin.  A sinful nation cannot continue to sin because they spread their filth to the whole world.  So God has always checked those nations by bringing them down and replacing them with another.  I believe this is happening to America today.  God is kicking us out of America for crossing the lines He has established of acceptable behavior.  1:00

 

  1. Abortion, Child Sacrifice will Get you tossed out.

Leviticus  18:21And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.  You shall not give ANY of your children to offer them [by fire as a sacrifice] to Molech [the god of the Ammonites], nor shall you profane the name of your God [by honoring idols as gods]. I am the Lord. Do not hand over any of your children to be used in the worship of the god Molech, because that would bring disgrace on the name of God, the Lord. 

 

The list of sexual sins in Leviticus 18 includes the sin of putting children to death.  The result of human sexual union produces the blessing of children.  To put these children to death through the birth of a blessed child, a holy birth as all children are.  Luke 2:23 Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord.   What happens in that womb is holy.  This is from Exodus 13:2.    To offer our children to a false god is the worst sin possible.  We are doing that today with the cult of abortion.  We kill unborn babies for convenience sake today.  We offer them to the god of pleasure and convenience. 

 

Jesus promises special judgment to those who harm children.  Matthew 18:6  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

 

Pedophilia reigns in our nation’s highest government and national and state offices and corporations.  It exists among the most influential people in the world.  Hollywood, the white house, the national media, the world elites all are abusing children and using them as sexual toys.   They want to make pedophilia the next accepted perversion and it will happen if Jesus tarries. 

 

Molech and Asteroth and Baal are the gods of the wicked one. They are sill alive today for their greatest pleasure is to kill, and harm and abuse children. NO land will keep inhabitants that kill and abuses their own children.  We are therefore doomed as a nation unless we have national repentance.   We will be tossed out of this land we have polluted.  Yes I believe we are polluting our nation but not with CO2 but with the abuse and murder of our children today.  7:00

Leviticus  18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. You shall not lie [intimately] with a male as one lies with a female; it is repulsive.  No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.   Pretty plain isn’t it?  How can you say this is not a sin?  It’s the Old Testament they say.  It says that eating shell fish is an abomination they correctly say. 

 

An abomination is something that is really offensive to God and very harmful to mankind.  That’s where shellfish comes in.  Many people are allergic to it.  It is harmful to many.  So God did not want His people sick in the wilderness. That would have been a mess.  But is it a sin today to eat shellfish?  Not ever for gentiles and no longer for Israel since Jesus has come.  Jesus fulfilled and gave greater laws to fulfill the Levitical laws.  While Jesus doesn’t mind you eating shellfish, He does still regard sexual sins like fornication as serious sins.  You cannot practice homosexual sin with fornicating….EVER!  So keep that in mind.

 

So you can say Homosexuality is a sin, even an abomination because of two more reasons…

  1. The Bible says it is a sin and the word of God doesn’t change in it’s rules for this sin in the New Testament. Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.

 

So Old Testament laws are not necessary today?  What about the ten commandments?  They are still effective for today.  Yes, the man 634 Levitical laws are not necessary today because we are under grace but many of the principles of the laws are still necessary and effective and helpful.  We discovered the cure for the black plague from the law of quarantining the sick in the Bible.  We learned about germs from the Bible.  We learn order and other health practices from the Levitical law. 

 

  1. Making babies is in a sense an holy act. It is for the survival of the humanity.  It is one of God’s greatest and most important command and first command to the man and the woman…be fruitful and multiply.  Homosexuality is rebellion against God.  Sex is for procreation and for pleasure but any sex not between a man and a woman is Biblically perverse and sinful.  14:00

Leviticus  18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto. 

You shall not have intimate relations with any animal to be defiled with it; nor shall a woman stand before an animal to mate with it; No man or woman is to have sexual relations with an animal.  Pretty plain there.  Funny thing is that this is still today considered a perversion by most people when every other perversion is okay.   But soon I’m pretty sure that this perversion will be okay also. 

 

The real meaning to Leviticus 18:23 is that you can’t mix human’s with animals.  Animals are for man’s benefit and useful to the order of the world today.  We can eat some of them, make them pets, and make them part of the family…but we don’t get to use them for sexual pleasure…..EVER!  That’s crossing the line and will get you tossed. 

 

Leviticus 18:23…. it is confusion. it is a perversion.  A perversion makes you ritually unclean.

 

Let’s look at the sin of confusion or a complete perversion of nature to cross the line between animals and humans.  We are crossing that line today with Crimera’s.  These are creatures that contain human DNA and animal DNA combined to make a part human, part animal perversion.  They exist today and they are experimenting with this more and more.  This is crossing the line of what it means to be human. 

 

Humans and AI is crossing the line between what it means to be a human.  This is confusing the lines of what it means to be human.  This is moving really fast today.  So fast that God will have to intervene soon or humans will be completely assimiltated into AI.  We are almost there now.  How many of you can not even got to the bathroom without your phone?  Ahh see…

 

This is confusion!  The devil has always tried to mix humans with something else.  He did it with angels and that went really well until God put a stop to it!  He is doing it again today with all these human hybrid experiments.   The devils come to divide, confuse, steal, kill and destroy.  He will destroy every boundary even the boundary between man and animals.  21:00

Leviticus  18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled.    God cast out the nations before Israel due to their abominations.  Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these acts, for that is how the pagans made themselves unclean, those pagans who lived in the land before you and whom the Lord is driving out so that you can go in.  If God cast them out what makes you think He won’t cast Israel out? 

 

If God cast the Native Americans out what makes us think He won’t cast us out?   Pride comes before a fall the Bible says.  We are so smart so full of pride. The Native Americans were divided and hated each other and tribal warfare dominated them along with their heathen and cruel practices.  It got them tossed out.  American’s are divided along the false narratives of racial prejudice, Covid 19, vaccines, illegal aliens, Democrats and republicans, liberal and conservative, and Constitutional republic or New world order.  America cannot win.   America will not win.  We are going to the dustbin of history as the great experiment that eventually failed because of our sin.  We went to far and got tossed out!

 

Leviticus  18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.  For the land has become defiled; therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants.  So God will cast Israel out and He did in 586 BC through the Babylonians.  Their actions made the land unclean, and so the Lord is punishing the land and making it reject the people who lived there.

 

To vomit out it’s inhabitants is pretty graffic and the perfect description.  God is sick of us!  The land is sick of us!  God has no choice but to boot us out.  Most to judgment and a few to Him in the rapture!   Only a remnant today still follow the Bible and Jesus Christ.  God is going to toss the church out of America also.  But to take us to be with Him.  Christians we are getting tossed also.  And thank God we are!

 

Sometimes a whole team gets tossed due to the behavior of a few.  Some go to the locker room and some go to the press conference.  Only a few get to meet the press.  Where we face the lights and the reporters and we get something to drink and we laugh and get some glory time while the rest await their fate in the locker room.  Only the church gets to go before the Lights and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ! Will you be with Jesus or will you be with the wicked? 28:04

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 Giving Thanks

Intro:  We have so much to be thankful for.  Yes we are losing our constitutional Republic. We are losing our liberty in America.  But we will never lose Christ!  He will never change!  He will never leave us!  The world we live in will never be the same….but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!  I know we talk about giving thanks to God.  But in times like these we need Jesus more than ever!  What do we have if we don’t have Jesus? Where do we turn?  There is no one that can save you from the coming wrath of man, and the wrath of Satan and the wrath of God…except Jesus Christ!  1:00

 

  1. Thanks For Victory In Christ

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.  But thanks be to God! For in union with Christ we are always led by God as prisoners in Christ’s victory procession. God uses us to make the knowledge about Christ spread everywhere like a sweet fragrance.

 

The Corinthians had a man in the church that had sinned with his mother in law and the Corinthian church had not dealt with it.  Paul admonished them.  In 2 Corinthians 2 Paul talks about the incident and the repentance of the man involved in the sin.  Titus reported to him that the Corinthian church had repented in 2 Corinthians 7:6-9 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; 7And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.  For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.  Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

 

Paul is rejoicing in the victory the church and the man had in Christ and the comfort and forgiveness the church gave the man.    

 

God … leads us in triumph: Paul used the metaphor of the Roman triumphal procession to praise God. When a Roman general was victorious in a war, he led his army and the captives in a parade down the main street. God is the general who has conquered. Paul is one of His officers following in His train.

 

We thank God that He always gives us the victory in Christ!  Always! 

*He gives us victory over sin—Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

 

*He gives us victory over death—John 10:28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

 

*He gives us victory over the grave. 1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

 

*He gives us victory over the evil one. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

*He gives us victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Thanks be unto God!! For all that He has done for us and giving us victory. The world today is done for, it will perish with all those who follow evil one.  10:00

 

  1. Thanks For Victory In Christ 2. Thanks for The Sweet Fragrance Of Christ

2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; For we are like a sweet-smelling incense offered by Christ to God, which spreads among those who are being saved and those who are being lost.

 

In the Roman procession, priests carrying censers filled with incense followed the conqueror. Paul the priest set forth the fragrance of Christ by preaching the gospel.   Incense was a symbolic of something pleasing to God.  God was pleased with the sacrifice of the Lamb for the sins of the people.  God is satisfied with Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins.  Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.  Everything about Jesus pleases God.  So naturally if we follow Jesus Christ…..we are pleasing to God.  And the only thing that pleases God is Jesus.  And when we are in Christ we are pleasing to God.  There is difference in pleasing God and God loving us.  He loves us whether we please Him or not.  But to be close to God we have to come through Jesus! 

 

So, we are sweet aroma to God because of Jesus Christ.  Oh, how much we owe to the Lord Jesus Christ.  He makes us pleasing to God.   You know the difference between garbage and trash?  Garbage stinks.  Trash is piled up stuff.  Isaiah 3:24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink…….Israel turned to other gods that did not offer insense to God.  That did not cover their sins with the blood of the Lamb. And their sin stunk to God.

 

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.  This is what we were before we came to Christ!  How thankful we should be that God made us clean through the blood of Jesus Christ and has given us .  1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

 

2 Corinthians 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? To the latter one an aroma from death to death [a fatal, offensive odor], but to the other an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is adequate and sufficiently qualified for these things? For those who are being lost, it is a deadly stench that kills; but for those who are being saved, it is a fragrance that brings life. Who, then, is capable for such a task?  19:00

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. For we are not like many, [acting like merchants] peddling God’s word [shortchanging and adulterating God’s message]; but from pure [uncompromised] motives, as [commissioned and sent] from God, we speak [His message] in Christ in the sight of God. We are not like so many others, who handle God’s message as if it were cheap merchandise; but because God has sent us, we speak with sincerity in his presence, as servants of Christ.

 

It is hard to believe that some people become pastors thinking it is an easy job.  They move up through the churches and wind up with a big church, a big salary, big perks, big radio and tv shows, big popularity, and big deception.  2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  Some preachers who deceive are deceived themselves and don’t know it.  They sincerely believe the lies.  They want to believe the lies.  They love the praise and glory given to them by being so popular.   John 12:43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

 

Galation 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.  We all want to be popular. Everyone wants to be liked.  But for some it becomes like a drug.  They want the credit, they want the glory and praise.  Acts 18:21-23 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.  23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.  These fake preachers will be sorry one day.

 

We are sincere.  Sincere means to genuinely believe in something.  They are not dishonest or hypocritical.  God knows those that are His.  You know whether you are sincerely following Christ or not.  Everyone who sincerely follows the Lord Jesus Christ will be blessed and will be strengthened and will be successful in their Christian life.  Absolutely will not fail. 

 

We should be for those who are sincerely serving Jesus Christ.  The things going on today will separate the pretenders from the contenders!  These days you cannot be in the middle you have to take a stand for the Lord Jesus Christ.  Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.   Will you stand for Christ?  Are you sincerely serving the Lord Jesus Christ?  Thank God for those who follow Christ in sincerity and in truth!  27:00

Giving Thanks

We can be thankful for our family, our jobs, our houses, our lands, our health, our toys, our faith in Christ, but there is only one person who is responsible for it all and who causes it all.   2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ….. 28:04

 

 

 

11-21-21 Evening

1 Thessalonians 5:6 The woke are Asleep

Intro:  Wokeness:  This word was added to the dictionary in 2017.  It means “well informed, up to date, alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice.” Being “woke” means being aware….Knowing what’s going on in the community related to racism and social injustice.   Well are they really “woke?”  What does the Bible say about being “woke.”  There is a “wokeness” to temporal things and a being “awake” to spiritual things.  1:00

 

  1. The Woke are asleep

1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others…

So then, we should not be sleeping like the others;  So then let us not sleep [in spiritual indifference] as the rest [of the world does].  They believe in Social Justice instead of shining your light.  “Wokeness” instead living for Jesus.   People in the church today are hoping for normalcy instead of hoping for Jesus! 

 

Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.  Isaiah 29:10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: Those who do not have the Holy Spirit cannot see spiritual truth.  Even the Holy spirit has to draw people to Christ.  So no one can be saved without the Holy Spirit draws them.  But the world is asleep today to the truth of God.  Woke people are actually asleep.  That’s the great Biblical paradox.  The woke are actually asleep.

 

They will always be asleep because of this…Romans 8:6  Tto be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  The woke are going to die.  They think they are the awake but they are sound asleep on spiritual things and things of God and the truth of God and what’s really going on.  10:00

1 Thessalonians 5:6……..but let us watch  Let us be wide awake and alert. Eyes wide open to the truth.

Let US WATCH.  The woke are not only asleep but they are also blind.  People who are asleep cannot see for their eyes are closed, they are blinded.  The blind cannot see.  But we who are the US must watch. Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. 

 

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  The woke are blind because they do not believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.  The gospel brings us light and sight.  God’s truth and light will shine on them.  The truth is revealed in Jesus Christ.  But notice in 2 Corinthians 4:4 their MINDS are blinded.  They cannot think right.  Like reprobate minds of Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.  Ephesians 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.  God says that those who are woke in this world have darkened understanding. They cannot see the truth right in front of their face.  Ephesians 4:18 says that they are ignorant because of the blindness of their heart.  It all boils down to a heart problem.  Did you know that heart problems have and always will be the leading cause of death in the world.  Well, heart problems are the leading cause of spiritual death in the world.  People have not given their hearts to faith and trust in Jesus Christ so they die for all eternity!

 

1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.  More darkness for those who hate others.  I’ve been around for 65 years and I have never seen such hate for one another ever in my life!  Someone who hates a person is in darkness.  I don’t care who it is we cannot and should not hate anyone.  I shouldn’t even have to tell you that.  You can hate what they do but you will not hate them if you are in the light of Jesus Christ.  But the woke are also haters of those who to them are not woke! 

 

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.   This Laodecian church thought they were rich. But they were wretched, miserable, poor in spirit, blind to the truth and naked revealed as to what they really are to the one who are truly following Christ.  The church today I believe is the Laodecian church.  Franklin Graham encourages the vaccines saying that Jesus would have been vaccinated!  What? He recently had surgery for Pirocarditis one of the symptoms of the vaccine.  Yet he still encourages us to be vaccinated.  And by the way, he got to go to the Mayo Clinic and go right to the front of the line.  So much for humility and servanthood.  I like his stance for the gospel and truth telling.  What happened?  He has been beguiled and he did eat.  Even Solomon who started so great ended so poorly. 

 

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  If you want to see the Lord’s appearing you can’t be woke to this world but loving and looking for Jesus Christ not looking for the great reset, the new world order or for Donald Trump.  We must be looking for Jesus and you can’t be worlding woke or you won’t see him until He comes in judgment!

 

1 Timothy 6:12-14 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.  13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;  14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:  What commandment?  Fight continually the good fight of faith…..and go into win eternal life victoriously.  For this is the life God has called you to when you made your profession of faith before many people.   Not weak faith but victorious faith!  Keep fighting for the faith.  The woke are fighting for their lives and their selfish ambitions.  We are fighting for THE faith once delivered unto the saints!  Jesus will appear to those who know Him and are looking for Him.  He is not coming for the woke….. He is coming for the faithful in Christ. 

 

2 Peter 3:4 “And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” The church today is Laodecian. They are not looking for Christ for one reason.  They don’t believe it anymore!  They have been beguiled by this world allures.  The want to go along to get along!  Where is He?  I’ve been hearing about this rapture thing for 51 years!  And I see everything falling in to place not falling apart.  I know why Jesus hasn’t come for us yet.  1.  The timing is not right yet.  Things are lining up actually I think things are ready NOW!  2. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  God loves this world. God loves the woke….He doesn’t want them to perish.  But I think we are coming to a time when men will no longer repent and turn to God until they see the wrath of God poured out on this world during the tribulation.  I think the day of church is almost over.  The woke will then really be awakened to either repent or face the wrath of God! 19:00

Sober means to be serious, wide awake, calm and wise.  The woke think they are wise and smarter than everyone else but in truth they are not wise toward God.  We are called to be serious, awake, calm and wise concerning today.  We have the wisdom of God available to us.  James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  Who wouldn’t want the wisdom of God? 

 

The woke don’t want God or His wisdom. 1 Corinthians 3:9 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.  It is foolish for you to seek wisdom of the world when God will give you all wisdom and knowledge and discernment.  We need discernment  and understanding. 

 

The woke think they are so wise.  So much smarter than the rest of us.  But look what is really happening to them.  1 Corinthians 1:19  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  Those who think they are so smart will look like fools.  How can you not someone a fool who thinks gender is fluid?  How can you not call someone a fool who leaves borders wide open and allows people to rush in unabetted, unchecked and unfiltered?  How can you not call someone a fool who votes to spend money that we do not have?  The US government writes checks based on YOUR bank balance.  When we run out of money only then is the government is going to act like it truly is…….a ponsi scheme.  The one at the top of the pyramid gets all the money.

 

Romans 1:22-23 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.  The woke sound like fools to the Godly.  Their plans are idiotic to the Godly.  Yet they persist in the lies and deception being deceived themselves.  But the Godly can’t believe anyone can be so stupid as the woke.  But they are because they have reprobate minds that cannot understand truth and honesty.  It is a Satanic agenda to cause confusion and vane babbling.  2 Timothy 2:6 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.  People who are woke are not going to make any senses to the Godly. 

 

The woke are not wise toward God and will never be until they are able to see and are awakened to their need for Christ!  You not what I fear for the woke is this…..I think their window of salvation is getting smaller and smaller with each passing day as they get farther and farther from God’s saving grace and their hatred for God and Christians in general continues to grow and fester.

 

It all comes down to deception.  They have been deceived and in turn deceive others.  For they only do what they are…..deceivers and liars.    2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.   All of their wisdom comes from the spirit of ANTI-Christ.  The bottom line is that they are against Jesus Christ and all He stands for.  27:00

Paradoxes.  The woke are the really asleep.  The blind think they see.  The rich in the world are truly poor in Christ.  The faithless have faith in their faithlessness.  It doesn’t make sense until you see that Satan is the of god this world. 2 Chronicles 2:5-6  A House For God

Intro: Solomon was the third and last king of the united kingdom of Israel, following King Saul and King David. He was the son of David and Bathsheba, the former wife of Uriah the Hittite whom David had killed to hide his adultery with Bathsheba while her husband was on the battle front. Solomon wrote the Song of Solomon, the book of Ecclesiastes, and much of the book of Proverbs. His authorship of Ecclesiastes is contested by some, but Solomon is the only “son of David” to be “king over Israel” (not just Judah) “in Jerusalem”, and many of the descriptions of the author fit Solomon perfectly. Solomon reigned for 40 years. 

Solomon contracts Hiram king of Tyre…. known for their great Cedar Trees to provide cedars for the Lord’s house.  2 Chronicles 2:3 And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.  

Despite the greatness of King Solomon’s armies, wealth, and material possessions, it is not these things that are the most important for us today; nor were they for Ezra in his day. It was Solomon’s temple that captured the greatest concern. This building was, after all, the place where the people worshiped God John 4:21; cf. Mt 27:51).

To the Jews of 450 B.C., the temple overshadowed every other aspect of the career of Solomon. Through the rites of atonement that were performed at its altar, God brought Israel into reconciliation with himself (cf. 2Chronicles 5:18); and continuously these rites symbolized the presence of the Lord in the midst of his redeemed people.

Solomon’s preparations for the temple possessed considerable help for King David had already prepared in many ways: providing the design for the whole complex, gathering supplies, and enlisting personnel (1Ch 22; 28-29). Solomon, however, still needed to organize the labor force (2Ch 2:2, 17-18). A further aspect, and perhaps the most significant of his preparations, lay in the young king’s search for technical assistance from Hiram king of Tyre. This way Solomon could gain an experienced superintendent of construction and also a supply of timber from the incomparable cedars of Lebanon. A suitable contract was soon negotiated (vv.11-16).

Salvation was bound up in the temple, even if in a preliminary and anticipatory way. For even as its altar and priests were a figure that pointed forward to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross,  so the structure itself was a type, a material prophecy of that day when the Word of God would become flesh and “tabernacle” among us (cf. Jn 1:14). Still today it serves as a type of that future glorification that awaits us in the heavenly presence of God himself (Ex 24:18; Heb 9:24).  1:00

  1. A Great House For A Great God

2 Chronicles 2:5 And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods. The house I am going to build will be great, for our God is greater than all the gods. I intend to build a great temple, because our God is greater than any other god. The same theological consideration of God’s omniscience and transcendence is included in Solomon’s letter as is shown in Solomon’s later dedicatory prayer (2 Chronicles 6:18). Great is our God above all gods. In a rare occurrence, an Israelite king gave witness to a heathen king of the greatness and supremacy of his God the Lord (Yahweh), the one true God.

 

Solomon’s statement that our God is greater than all gods means that God is the only true God, not that He is the greatest one among many lesser ones. All pagan “gods” are actually imaginary.

Solomon set about to build a glorious temple that would honor the Lord and show He was above all other deities. However, Jesus built an even more wonderful temple because He has established His dwelling place within us, the Church (1 Cor. 3:16, 17Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.; 1 Corinthians 6:19, What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own; Eph. 2:19–22Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.). And since God has brought us together as His building, His temple, He deserves our wholehearted devotion and joyful obedience.

In our day what makes a thing great? What makes a man great? What makes a nation great? What makes a church great? God, my friend. This is something else we are losing sight of.  Not a great building, but a great God that we serve! 10:00

2 Chronicle 2:6 But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? But who is able to build a house for Him, since the heavens and [even] the highest heavens cannot contain Him? Yet no one can really build a temple for God, because even all the vastness of heaven cannot contain him.

The temple was designed to house the glory cloud of God’s presence (2 Chronicles 5:13-14It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

Solomon, from the very outset, acknowledged that it could not “contain him,” in the sense of restricting or in any way confining his infinitude to this one location (2 Chronicles 6:18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!; Acts 7:48-49Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,  49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

God in his grace has seen fit, on various occasions, to manifest himself for purposes of reveling Himself  and redemption; the supreme demonstration of this fact lies in the incarnation of Jesus Christ (John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

 

So God gave His people a building where God and man can gather, to worship, to sacrifice for sins, and to honor God…for their good and for God’s glory.  But God did not need a temple.  God did not need to create man…but He did for His own purposes.  We know that God wants to fellowship with man and the temple is a kind of symbolic meeting place for man and God. Where we can gather in HIS name and fellowship with God.  The church is like that also. A symbolic place where God and man can fellowship on this earth.  19:00

 

  1. A Great House For A Great God 2.  God Is Greater Than A Building   3. The Humility Of A Man

2 Chronicles 2:6…..who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?   Who am I to build a house for Him, except [as a place] to burn incense before Him? How then can I build a temple that would be anything more than a place to burn incense to God?  In the light of the greatness of God, Solomon confessed his own inadequacy: “Who then am I?” His humility becomes all the more noteworthy in view of his own unsurpassed wealth, wisdom, and power (cf. 2 Chronicles 1:12, 14-15).

Solomon could not build a dwelling place for God because God could never be contained within any physical structure.   The temple provided a place for God’s people to go and offer sacrifices of worship to the Lord.  He realized that.  Some today think they can build great things for their OWN glory and honor.  They never think about honoring God in any way with the things we build. 

It was by a sacrifices performed in the temple that they approached God. And the only way you and I can come to God is through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. The important thing to note here is that Solomon had no misunderstanding as to who God was, or whether God would occupy and live in that house.  Solomon knew God and God laid this desire upon His heart.  Not for God’s benefit, but for mankind’s. 

Jesus said “I will build my church.”  We don’t need a building but Jesus planned for us to have church buildings, and places that again symbolize that God and man can fellowship and meet so that we can worship together, instruct, exhort, encourage  and pray for each other.   In the New Testament not much is said about great church buildings…… but great churches that met in the cities that Paul established churches.  Most met in houses and some still do today.  There is nothing wrong with church buildings that house a group of people who meet to worship and glorify God and then go out to serve Him and live for Him.  But we are the temple of God today.  We are His building.  But we meet for the purpose of being the CHURCH of gathered believers in the world. 

I once read an article about a theologian who made the statement that what Solomon was attempting to do was build a little house to put God in a box and that the people had the idea that God should be put in a box—that He could be held there. May I say to you that Solomon didn’t think like that at all; neither did the people.

They were much farther advanced than a great many people are today, even in our churches. Many people call the church “God’s house.” Well, God doesn’t occupy a house. He never did. The temple was a place to make sacrifices. It was a place of approach to God. And it had to be worthy of Him. It was highly ornate, very beautiful. It was not very large compared to other buildings of that day. For instance, if you put the temple that Solomon built down beside the temple of Diana in Ephesus or the pyramids, it would be a pygmy. But it made up for its small size in its wealth—the tremendous amount of silver and gold that went into it.

God didn’t need a great house….He already is great…look at creation!  The people needed a house….a house of God, to come to God’s house to worship and be reminded how great God was!  28:04

Obadiah 1:15-16  The Doom Of The Wicked

Intro: Obadiah 1:15 For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen….. For the [judgment] day of the Lord draws near on all the nations.  The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge all nations.  Zechariah 14:1  Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.  The phrase “day of the Lord” usually identifies events that take place at the end of history and is often closely associated with the phrase “that day.” One key to understanding these phrases is to note that they always identify a span of time during which God personally intervenes in history, directly or indirectly, to accomplish some specific aspect of His plan.

Most people associate the day of the Lord with a period of time or a special day that will occur when God’s will and purpose for His world and for mankind will be fulfilled. Some scholars believe that the day of the Lord will be a longer period of time than a single day—a period of time beginning with the rapture, including the tribulation and the millennium when Christ will reign throughout the world before He cleanses heaven and earth in preparation for the eternal state of all mankind. Other scholars believe the day of the Lord will be an instantaneous event when Christ returns to earth to redeem His faithful believers and send unbelievers to eternal damnation. 

  1. The Day of The Lord

The phrase “the day of the Lord” is used often in the Old Testament.  It is not a good time.  It begins with the church being taken out…..which would make sense when you see what this day is all about.

Isaiah 2:12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isaiah 13:6 Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Isaiah 13: 9Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it;

Ezekiel 13:5Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.

Ezekiel 30:3 For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.

Joel 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel 2:1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

Joel 2:11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

Amos 5:18Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.

Amos 5:20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Obadiah 1:15For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Zephaniah 1:7Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

Zephaniah 1:14The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. Malachi 4:5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

…..and several times in the New Testament the day of the Lord is mentioned….

Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come.

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

2 Corinthians 1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are our’s in the day of the Lord Jesus.  The church will rejoice at this day for we are going to be with Jesus. Would we rejoice if we were going to suffer indescribable events? 

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. Thieves come to steal and destroy.  The church is taken the world is left to destruction caused by the thief.

2 Thessalonians 2:2 hat ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Not a good day for the planet earth!

It is also alluded to in other passages about the wrath poured out on the earth in that day….

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

The Old Testament passages dealing with the day of the Lord often convey a sense of imminence, nearness, and expectation: “Wail, for the day of the Lord is near!” (Isaiah 13:6); “For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near” (Ezekiel 30:3); “Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand” (Joel 2:1); “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision” (Joel 3:14); “Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near” (Zephaniah 1:7). This is because the Old Testament passages referring to the day of the Lord often speak of both a near and a far fulfillment, as does much of Old Testament prophecy. Some Old Testament passages that refer to the day of the Lord describe historical judgments that have already been fulfilled in some sense (Isaiah 13:6-22; Ezekiel 30:2-19; Joel 1:15, 3:14; Amos 5:18-20; Zephaniah 1:14-18), while others refers to divine judgments that will take place toward the end of the age (Joel 2:30-32; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi 4:1, 5).

The New Testament calls it a day of “wrath,” a day of “visitation,” and the “great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:14) and refers to a still future fulfillment when God’s wrath is poured out on unbelieving Israel (Isaiah 22; Jeremiah 30:1-17; Joel 1-2; Amos 5; Zephaniah 1) and on the unbelieving world (Ezekiel 38–39; Zechariah 14). The Scriptures indicate that “the day of the Lord” will come quickly, like a thief in the night (Zephaniah 1:14-15; 2 Thessalonians 2:2), and therefore Christians must be watchful and ready for the coming of Christ at any moment to take us from this day….

Besides being a time of judgment, it will also be a time of salvation as God will deliver the remnant of Israel, fulfilling His promise that “all of Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26), forgiving their sins and restoring His chosen people to the land He promised to Abraham (Isaiah 10:27; Jeremiah 30:19-31, 40; Micah 4; Zechariah 13). The final outcome of the day of the Lord will be that “the arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day” (Isaiah 2:17). The ultimate or final fulfillment of the prophecies concerning the day of the Lord will come at the end of history when God, with wondrous power, will punish evil and fulfill all His promises. 

You think the church will be here for this?  What did Jesus die for? To save us from the wrath of God.  John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on himThose who reject Jesus are facing the wrath of God.  Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  Plainly the church will be saved from wrath to come.  1 Thessalonians 1:10  And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.   How plain can God be?  The church is not going to be here during the tribulation when the wrath of God is poured out on the world…Period!  15:00

  1. The Day of The Lord 2. That Day is a Reward For Evil

Obadiah 1:15….. as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. As you have done, it shall be done to you [in retribution];  Your [evil] dealings will return on your own head. Edom, what you have done will be done to you.  You will get back what you have given.

The wicked will be rewarded for the evil that they have done.  I would have to say that the people today are the most wicked and evil in history.  Noah’s flood people were led by the Nephilim who were hybrid humans.  Today these are purely wicked evil human beings…. of course influenced by the devil, but evil in their vile, godless hearts.  No wonder God will bring their evil down upon them. 

The Bible says there will be no time ever like this time.  Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.  This will be the worst time in world history.  We’ve had some pretty bad times…..the flood, the tower of Babel, the dark ages, earthquakes,  volcanic eruptions, great storms, two world wars, the holocaust…but nothing will compare to this…..nothing!!  It is chilling to think about it….Revelation 6:16-17 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?  This is absolute horror, absolute no place to hide, no place to run for the wicked.  So you think the church will be here for this?  Come on!  You think this is allegory?  ON what basis?  When the Bible describes this in such detail why would they use allegory with such detail?    Hey…. God rewards the righteous and He will reward the wicked.   22:00

Obadiah 1:16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

“Because just as you [Edom] drank on My holy mountain [desecrating it in the revelry of the destroyers],

So shall all the nations drink continually [one by one, of My wrath];  Yes, they shall drink and swallow [the full measure of punishment]  And become as though they had never existed.  My people have drunk a bitter cup of punishment on my sacred hill.[b] But all the surrounding nations will drink a still more bitter cup of punishment; they will drink it all and vanish away.

After the punishment comes……..the destruction of all they possessed and all they knew and even their life and the eternal souls will suffer eternal destruction in the lake of fire.  2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.

Revelation 20:12-14 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.   This day is a day of destruction…so you think the church will be there?  27:00

The Doom of The Wicked

We cannot even imagine this day.  It will be a great day for the church.  We will be saved from the wrath of God.  It will be a terrible day for the wicked.  Be sure that you are a Christian!  Be very sure!  2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?  What is Paul saying?  You ought to know if you are saved or not!!!  Your own life, your thoughts, your actions will tell you if you are saved or not!! Did you ask Jesus to save you? SAVED!  Do you love Jesus? SAVED!  Do you follow Jesus? SAVED!  Do you worship Jesus? SAVED!  Do you love your brethren? SAVED!  Do you pray and trust in Jesus everyday? SAVED!  Do you love God’s word? SAVED!   It’s not hard to be saved, it’s not hard to know whether you are saved or not! For your own heart will testify to you unless you are a reprobate…one who is a fake and a fool….28:04

The Timing of the Rapture.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (day of the Lord begins with the rapture of the church)….shall not come, except there come a falling away first  (Greek words mean moving away, or taking away) and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

It appears from scripture that the church is going to be taken away BEFORE the tribulation begins.  Here are some points to consider as proof……

 

  1. Wrath of God……is NOT poured out on the church. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.  A judgment is coming on ALL The earth.  This can only happen during the tribulation and can only be describing that period. 

 

  1. Time of Jacobs trouble, Not the church’s trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. The church has already been judged when Jesus took our judgment upon Himself and had the wrath of God meant for us but poured out on Him.

 

  1. 70 weeks are determined for THY people. Daniel 9:24-27 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. THY people and THY Holy city can only be Israel and Jerusalem.  Seventy weeks of years.  490 years for Jerusalem and Israel.  To finish the transgression and missing 70 sabbath years during Babylonian captivity.

 

Leviticus 25:8 speaks of “seven sabbaths of years”; Lev. 26:18, And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.  Leviticus 26:21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. These verses imply that Israel’s punishment would be multiplied sevenfold. Therefore, a seventy “week” exile would be expected to last for seven times seventy years. Second Chronicles 36:21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.  

 

According to the Law of Moses the land was to lie fallow every seventh year (Lev. 25:4). This became known as the sabbatical year. Judah’s exile in Babylon allowed the land to enjoy the Sabbaths it had missed (Lev. 26:33–35).  This verse suggests that the captivity was to last long enough to make up for seven  omissions of the sabbatical year, which occurred every seven years which was 70 years.  But God owes them seven times the punishment upon them for their sins.  So seventy x seven times would amount to 490 years before God’s people would experience perfect reconciliation with their God.

 

Israel has to complete their punishment for their rebellion (this is the Tribulation) and to bring in the Kingdom of God and to anoint Jesus Christ as King.  (the millennium)  The tribulation is the last seven years of the 490 years determined for THY people.  Not the church.  So it appears the Church will NOT be here so the rapture must take place before the tribulation. 

 

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.  7 weeks or 49 years to rebuild the wall and Jerusalem plus 62 more weeks (434 years) until Jesus is crucified. Total of 69 weeks for years or 483 years.  So there are still seven years left in this prophecy.

 

Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, (434 years)but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.  The church age is skipped because this is a time determined for THY people not the church.  So we go straight to the crucifixion of Christ and skip the church and go straight to the tribulation and Israel’s last week of years.   That’s why the Apostle Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians.  The early church was not seeing the church in OT prophecy. And they were correct because they aren’t there.  So, Paul had to tell them that the prince that shall come, the little horn in Daniel, the prince that shall come, has not come yet.  We will see that in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 in point number 3. 

 

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: The beginning of the tribulation, the last week of years the beast will confirm a peace treaty with Israel.  This begins the last week of years of Israel’s punishment.  So the Beast will reveal himself at the beginning of the tribulation, be killed at the midpoint, go into the pit, rise again empowered by the Devil for his war against Israel. …. and in the midst of the week (3 and ½ years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, (He will go into he temple and claim to be God) even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.  So the church can’t be here the tribulation is seven years determined for THY people. 

 

  1. Man of sin cannot be revealed until the church is gone 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (day of the Lord begins with the rapture of the church)….shall not come, except there come a falling away first (Greek words mean moving away, or taking away) and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; He reveals himself with the peace treaty. 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Last 3 ½ years the beast and the devil turn on Israel to destroy them so that Jesus cannot rule and reign over his people who are all dead.  

 

Paul assures the OT believing Thessalonians a truth not revealed in the OT.  That the church will exist on the day of Pentecost and last until Jesus comes for them. The church clearly won’t be here for the church is taken before the anti-Christ is revealed. 

 

  1. The 144,000. Why would we need 144,000 Jewish evangelists if the church was still here?  They are sealed at the first part of the tribulation.  Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.  Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.  They are the first fruits of the great multitude saved during the Tribulation.  So what is their purpose?  It seems that they are going to get many to follow Jesus as they do. They follow the Lamb.  You know right now we only have a little over one hundred thousand missionaries in the world.  These will take the place of the church.  They will be Jewish since there is no gentile church there.  So this means that they church must not be here for the tribulation. 

 

  1. That Wicked, the Antichrist, the Beast, the man of sin cannot be revealed until the Holy Spirit is taken….out of the way! 2 Thessalonians 2: 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. The holy spirit guides the church, teaches the church, reminds the church and restrains evil through the influence of the church.  So when that is take out of the way the wicked will have free reign.  No Bible thumpers, no preaching, no righteousness from Bible believers.  The Holy Spirit will still be on the earth, but not empowering the church but convicting the world of sin. 

 

  1. The Two Witnesses. Why would we need two witnesses with supernatural power if the church was still here? The two witnesses preach until the mid-point of the tribulation. Revelation 11:3-4 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.  4 These are 3the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.   I see no need for these witnesses if the church is here.  They do miracles like the early church did.  They do great signs like the early church did.  They are hated like the church would be if they were here.  So all the hatred comes against these two witnesses tells us the church is not here. 

 

  1. Why Would an angel need to preach the gospel if the church was still here? This angel preaches briefly at the mid-point of the tribulation after the two witnesses are slain in conjunction with two other angels.  One warns not to take the mark and another one warns that Babylon is about to fall.  Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.  The church preaches the gospel.  So why would God use an angel to do the churches job?  They are not here. 

 

Conclusion:

If the rapture occurred at the mid-point then the church could count the days from the AntiChrist peace treaty and know day and the hour of the rapture.  The Bible says no one knows the day or the hour of the Lords return.  It would not be a surprise and catch no one off guard.  The Jewish wedding describes the groom coming for His bride when she does not know the day or the hour and the five virgins who were NOT ready for the wedding. 

 

Philippians 4:5 …the Lord is at hand.  If Paul, who was given the mystery of the rapture by Christ believed Christ could come without any connection to Jewish feasts, then why do we?  2 Thessalonians 2:3  The only event leading to the rapture is the rapture itself.      There appears to be no connection between the Jewish feasts and the rapture.  It all sounds good, even reasonable, but Jesus told us to be ready at all times in all seasons.  In an our ye think not the Son of Man cometh. 

 

The day of the Lord begins with the rapture and continues and includes the Millennium.  1 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night………It begins with a sudden coming and ends with the earth and heavens passing away as we know them. ….. in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

 

The Old Testament passages dealing with the day of the Lord often convey a sense of imminence, nearness, and expectation: (Isaiah 13:6); “Wail, for the day of the Lord is near!” (Ezekiel 30:3); “For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near” (Joel 2:1); “Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand” ” (Joel 3:14);  “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision (Zephaniah 1:7). “Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near”

 

In the book of Revelation we have church, church, church until we get to chapter four.  Then no church but a view from heaven’s throne room.  No church until we come back with Jesus.  So where were they?  In heaven for the wedding and the wedding supper. 

 

Clearly the church is not there for the tribulation.   So, the rapture has to occur before the tribulation.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6  Many That Are Called gods

Intro:  The world today loves their little “g” gods.  Many gods exist today.  Some real, some imagined.  The problems is that they all have a little “g.”  that is, they can be called gods but they are not the real, the only, the unique, the creator, the sustainer, the saving, the prophecy fulfilling, the only truth, the God of the Bible.  And that leaves the rest of them as only pretenders.  There is only one contender, and that is the God of the Bible. Eliohim, the great “I am.”  The Lord Jesus Christ.  1:00

 

  1. There Are Many Little “g” gods

1 Corinthians 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)  There are many gods.  Little “g.”  that’s a fact.  Let’s look at these contenders for the title of god.  First what does it mean to be god? 

 

To be a god you can be all knowing, all seeing, all hearing, be able to be in all places and be all powerful.  But you don’t have to be any of those things to be a god.  You just have to be worshipped or followed religiously by a human or humans to qualify to be a god.  A god is anything that we worship.  Worship means “worthship.” What we think is worth more than anything. 

 

There are real false little “g” gods…Genesis 6 demi-gods, Baal, Asteroth, and Molech.

Buddists have millions of little “g” gods.  A god for everything.  A god of the grass, a god of the ground, a god of the air, a god of toothpaste and on and on.  Total idiocy! 

There are Idols made by man hands….Israels idolatry, Nebuchadnezzer’s image, the golden calf etc…

There are Idols made by man’s mind….Allah, JW’s Jehovah, the Mormon god, Satanic worship, god of self….

 

There are Men who would be gods…… Phaoroh, Nebuchadnezzer, Herod, Hitler, Stalin, Soros, Putin, Schwaab, North Korea’s leaders, the anti-Christ, the elite of the world today want to be gods, China’s communist party is god to the Chinese.  In these nations and in our nation, the USA the Government wants to be god!

 

Then the greatest little “g” god….is the god of self!  We want to be god over our lives. We don’t want to be accountable to the God of the Bible.  Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.  They hate this verse….

 

Paul says for argument’s sake that there are “so-called gods” in heaven and earth, such as those the pagans recognized in Greek and Roman mythology. He also mentions the many “gods” and “lords” who are called such in Scripture (Dueteronomy 10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Psalm 136:2-3  O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.  The little “g” gods are rulers, leaders, false gods, who are all subordinate to the true God.  Col 1:16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.

 

Paul is therefore teaching that the “so-called gods” of the pagans are unreal and that the real “gods” and “lords,” whatever they may be, are all subordinate to the one supreme God whom alone we recognize. To Paul, there is only “one God, the Father,” and “one Lord, Jesus Christ.” The Father is the source of all creation, and Jesus Christ is the One through whom creation came into existence. As for Christians, they live for God, the source of all, and have the power for living through Jesus Christ. So why, implies Paul, should we be concerned with idols or meat sacrificed to idols if they are nothing to God? Answer?  We shouldn’t be concerned with the “gods” Little “g”, but concerned for the people that serve and worship them……who need Jesus Christ! 10:00

 

  1. There Are Many Little “g” gods 2. There Is Only One God

1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him;

The Corinthian believers who claimed to have knowledge readily admitted that an idol is nothing… Isaiah 37:19And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.; Jer. 16:20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?; Gal. 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. and that there is only one God.  Deut. 6:4Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:). But Paul did not dismiss the idea of idols altogether because though these gods are not real, they exist in the minds of those who worship them. 1 Corinthians 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  Paul in this passage calls the false gods of Baal, Asteroth, and Molech as devils.

 

What does God say about Himself?  Isaiah 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.  Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.   Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.  Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

 

Elijah’s test.  1 Kings 18:21 nd Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.   They didn’t say ONE word to defend God or take God’s side.  They just stood there.  Like people today.  Just going along to get along.  Not commitment, no faith, no courage, no resolve, no understanding….just standing there! 

 

1 Kings 18: Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.  All of a sudden the people fell on their faces and they got their voice back…isn’t that strange? They saw who God was and is!  Now they decide to follow God……for a little while….

 

There is only one God whether people believe it or not.  God is not wringing His hands wondering how to get people to believe in Him.  The evidence is everywhere!  He has given us everything we need to have faith.  Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.  No excuse.  Here is how we believers are to live and have peace and have strength and power.  Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  It is by faith that we believe and have our being in Christ Jesus.  Faith in Him, Reveals the truth about Him!  19:00

1 Corinthians 8:6….and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.  There is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.  We are followers of the only way, the only truth and the only Life…Jesus Christ! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  No man comes to God except through Jesus. So what do little “g” gods do?  They can’t bring you to God.  They can’t save you from your sin problem.  What do they do?  Cause confusion.

 

Praise God that God is not the author of confusion but soundness and order and wisdom.  The little “g” gods led by the devil seek to confuse and dilute the truth.  No wonder there is gender confusion, border confusion, vaccine confusion, Covid confusion, truth confusion, and New world order confusion.  It is straight from the devil.  Even the term New World ORDER is confusion.  There won’t be order….. only more deception and confusion.  The world can’t give order.  The tower of Babel was the first effort to bring a one world government.  What does Babel mean? Confusion. God caused the confusion that time but the devil was the cause of the problem.  Sinful man cannot get order.  It’s like putting the parts of an iphone in a box and shaking it up and out comes a perfectly assembled iphone.  It can’t happen because mankind can’t put the world back together.  They promise order, they promise utopia, they promise good things but in the end it is a disaster! 

 

Only Jesus can bring order and that is why He is returning to rule and reign.  Jesus claimed to the the great “I am”…..John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.  Wow! What a statement of who He really was!  It’s incredible.  Yet so many billions hold on to their own little “g” god.    Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.  The fool hath said in his heart there is NO God!  Fools abound today.  What is a fool? One who has been fooled, and deceived. 

 

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  Jesus was here in the beginning and before.  He is eternal. The eternal God!  Where were the little “g” gods when Jesus created the world?

 

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.   Christ made everything.  Tell me what the little “g” gods have made?  Confusion, deception, and destruction.

 

There is only one Jesus and we will bow our knee to Him.  We may bow to the little “g” gods now but that will end one day very soon.  And ALL will bow to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.  27:00

Many That Are Called gods.   Who is your little “g” god?  Everyone has a god.  In America we don’t worship statues or totem poles. We do have plenty of false little “g” gods.  Our selves, our careers, our children, our pleasure, our possessions and on and on.   A god is anything that we worship.  Worship means “worthship.” What we think is worth more than anything.  If Jesus is not first in your life….more important than anything, then you worship a false god.  Jesus is our life and our reason being.  In worshiping Him, He gives you these other things to richly enjoy.  God is not an eternal kill joy!  He gives us joy, peace and hope.  Trust only in Jesus Christ for your salvation.  28:04

Romans 6:5-9  The Christian’s Obsession with Death

Intro: The world is obsessed with death.  We do everything to avoid it.  We make gory movies about it.  We invent a holiday Halloween that is all about death.  Every image of Halloween is death.  Ghosts, devils, graves, headstones, graveyards, grim reaper and on and on.  We fear death!  Death makes us all afraid.  We spend billions perhaps trillions every year to keep from dying.  Medicines, exercise equipment, vitamins, doctors, nursing homes, exotic therapies and on and on. 

 

The elites are doing everything they can to give themselves eternal life through artificial Intelligence and weird things with Children’s blood and sacrifices to Satan.  Notice how the George Soro’s, the Klaus Scwaab’s, the Pope, and all these guys are all very old men.  How do they continue?  It’s weird.  They seem to have overcome death.  But they will die.  Everyone dies that has rejected Jesus Christ.  They die twice….. physically and spiritually.  The Bible is filled with death.  But the Bible is filled with the answer to death and hope after death.    1:00

 

  1. The Christian’s Obsession With Death

Romans 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: For if we have become one with Him [permanently united] in the likeness of His death, we will also certainly be [one with Him and share fully] in the likeness of His resurrection. For since we have become one with him in dying as he did, in the same way we shall be one with him by being raised to life as he was.  1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.  Christ died, He was buried. We only bury dead people right?  He rose again.  Baptism buries us symbolically and we share in His death to the power of sin in our lives.  And we are raised out of the water symbolizing the resurrection we will share with Christ. 

 

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  Just like Christ lives after His body died. So we shall live also. What a incredible promise!  The greatest promise in the Bible!  This fulfills all the other promises in the Bible!  The Bible is a book about bodily resurrection from death.  We are obsessed with our death because we know what comes next.  2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.  This body will cease to function one day and after that we live for ever!  We will be alive more after the death of this body than we ever experienced here in this life!   No wonder we are obsessed with death.  Not that we want to die but like Paul said….Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

 

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. We know that our old [c]self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. And we know that our old being has been put to death with Christ on his cross, in order that the power of the sinful self might be destroyed, so that we should no longer be the slaves of sin. We are obsessed with death because that will end sin for us. 

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

 

Romans 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. For the person who has died [with Christ] has been freed from [the power of] sin. For when we die, we are set free from the power of sin.  No one sins any more after dead whether saint or sinner.  But we died to sin when we accepted Christ.  We are freed from sin anymore tormenting us and killing us slowly.  That’s what sin does.  It kills us slowly and surely.  Ezekiel 18:20  The soul that sinneth, it shall die.  We are obsessed with death because then we will truly live.  1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  Are we Christians obsessed with death?  Yes we are.  Christs death for us and our death to sin and death to our will.

  1. The Christian’s Obsession With Death 2.  Death Gives Life

Romans 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, Now if we have died with Christ, Since we have died with Christ.  We are already dead in trespasses and sins.  But in this case we die to self, we die so we might live.  Like a seed is placed into the ground it has to die in order to live.  We die to the flesh.  Romans 8:8-10 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  We die so that the spirit of God may live in us.  We are made righteous by Christ and therefore the Spirit of God can live in us and give us life when we die to sin and die to self. 

 

We die WITH Christ.  He died for us, and paid for ours sins.  So we have the righteousness of Christ applied to our lives by faith in Christ.  Christ gave up His life for us, we give up our lives for Him!  2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him.  We die to our efforts to save ourselves.  We give up!  We cannot save ourselves.  We needed to be perfect.  To fulfill the ten commandments.  No man can do that.  So God did it for us. He came, He lived, He was perfect, He died in our place!  His death gives us life both legally (it satisfied the law of God) and morally (it satisfied the heart of God).  Death gives life.

 

Romans 6:8 ……we believe that we shall also live with him: we believe that we will also live [together] with Him, we believe that we will also live with him.  Again John 14:19 Because I live, ye shall live also… Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.  We believe….We believe and trust in Jesus Christ by faith and faith alone. By grace are ye saved through faith.  We know the Bible is the word of God by Bible prophecy being fulfilled in the past and today.  We know the Bible is the word of God by how it speaks to our hearts and minds.  We know the Bible is the word of God because it’s about redemption and resurrection…it’s all about Jesus!  It’s about His death giving us life! Eternal life!

 

We believe!  Do you believe? You don’t have to have all the facts to believe.  You believe in your car and you don’t know how it all works together.  You have a good idea, but you don’t know one tenth of what it takes to make a modern day vehicle run smoothly.  You don’t get down and examine that pew before you sat on it.  You believe in it because others are sitting and because you have sat on it before. 

 

We don’t understand all of the Bible.  We can understand most of it.  But no one knows it all because we don’t have the mind of God, so we trust in Him and in His word because He has been tested and tried and found worthy of our worship and our trust!  We know that only the Bible tells us that death has no power, death has no sting, and death brings life!  19:00

Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more……………… Because we know [the self-evident truth] that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again. For we know that Christ has been raised from death and will never die again—We trust in one who can never die again.  Jesus Chrsit is the Son of the Living, eternal God.  In fact Jesus is God, the Son.  God our very God!  He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. Before Abraham was…..I am! 

 

Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending that never ends!  In other words Christ is life.  He is our life!  We cannot take another breath without Him.  Without Me ye can do NOTHING!  

There is only ONE sacrifice for sin.  Hebrews 10:11-12 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.  Every year the blood of lambs and bulls and goats was shed for the sins of the people.  But they could never put away sins permanently.  They were just symbols of the one who would come to take away our sins for ever!  He lives so His sacrifice was perfect.  He is eternal so His sacrifice is eternal.  He was perfect so His sacrifice was perfect!  Death’s power is gone!  Forever and ever! 

 

Romans 6:9……death hath no more dominion over him.  death no longer has power over Him. death will no longer rule over him.  Right now death has dominion over the people of this world.  At one time death was given power over Jesus….. temporarily.  In the Old Testament the death of the lamb was  permanent and the forgiveness temporary.  In the New Testament Jesus death was temporary, but His forgiveness is permanent!  He truly died.  He gave His life up to the power of death voluntarily.  But He arose and overcame the power of death, sin, Hell and the grave not only for Him but for the whole world! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, the whosoever believeth in Him should NOT perish…..Not die permanently but live forever!

 

Dominion means power or rule.  Right now death rules the world.  Right now death has the power. Everything we do is centered around death it seems.  We all pass graveyards everyday.  We all pass hospitals and doctors offices every day just about.  We see death every day on TV, and in the news, so we are reminded of death every day.   It is the one certainty that no one wants to talk about nor believes that it will happen to them.  Strange isn’t it? 

 

Ecclesiastes 7:1  A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.   Why is the day of one’s death better than the day of birth?  Death means you lived, you existed. You mattered.  It also means that once you have been born you begin to die.  Our mortality stares at us every day.  Also you can’t help being born.  You have no control of your birth.  You can’t do anything about that.  But you can do things to avoid death. 

 

But thanks be unto God who always gives us the victory in Christ Jesus….we have power over death!  Death no longer has the victory.  O death where is thy sting, O grave where is thy victory!  Death has been defeated by the Lord Jesus Christ.  He should be honored, worshipped, praised, and glorified by every human on the planet earth!   Our greatest enemy has been defeated and only a few recognize our hero, our Savior, our wonderful God!   27:00

Psalm 2:1-6   The Plot Against God

Intro: Covid, Same sex marriage, Abortion, Transgenderism, Islam, the Pope, Covid, Vaccine mandates, all this stuff is just war against God and His creation.  Man is trying to make man in His image.  Should I say the devil is trying again to remake man into his image with MRNA vaccines, and DNA altering shots that will kill millions and those that survive (the devil doesn’t want every human to survive just a select few that he can breed a new mankind)  will be made in the devil’s image.  God is going to stop this as He did in the days of Noah. Why do men seem to hate God and resist God?  It’s his fallen nature to resist God.  Man has as wicked heart that resists God.  But God loves us and we can have and must have a new heart, a forgiven and cleansed heart from the penalty of our sin and rebellion.   1:00

Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? Why are the [a]nations in an [b]uproar [in turmoil against God], And why do the people devise a vain and hopeless plot? Why do the nations plan rebellion?  Why do people make their useless plots? Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Psalm 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, The kings of the earth take their stand; And the rulers take counsel together Against the Lord and His Anointed (the Davidic King, the Messiah, the Christ), saying, Their kings revolt, their rulers plot together against the Lord and against the king he chose. Romans 13:1  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Psalm 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. “Let us break apart their [divine] bands [of restraint] And cast away their cords [of control] from us.” “Let us free ourselves from their rule,” they say; “let us throw off their control Isaiah 44:8 …….Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

 

God still loves these people and wants them to be saved.  2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

 

It doesn’t matter what men do, Jesus is greater than all the power of all the men in the world!  1 John 4:4   Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  10:00

Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. He who sits [enthroned] in the heavens laughs [at their rebellion];  The [Sovereign] [c]Lord scoffs at them [and in supreme contempt He mocks them]. From his throne in heaven the Lord laughs and mocks their feeble plans.   God laughs at their schemes and plans.  We panic but God is having a laugh at the plans of men to replace God.  God mocks men by giving them a disaster or two to shake up their great plans. 

Zephaniah  1:15  That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.   One day their bright plans and schemes will bring confusion and distress, waste, desolation, darkness, gloom, clouds and darkness.  Can’t get much worse than that!  God takes all their plans and schemes and completely foils them.

Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;  26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  Very important verse here.  Signs in the….

Sun, Moon and Stars will not be where they used to be and will be doing strange things. 

Earth will have Distress among nations as infighting, and fear and destabilization and wars.

Perplexity

Sea and waves roaring due to something falling from the sky and general uproar caused by storms.

Men’s hearts failing them for FEAR for those things coming upon them!

Powers of heaven, the sky and the stars shall be shaken.  The sun, moon and stars that man has depended upon for years will not appear how they used to.  

Perplexity….means confusion and lack of understanding what is happening.  Their plans were so good, so precise, so tested and tried….what went wrong?  Well God intervened and they didn’t count on that! 

Psalm 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Then He will speak to them in His [profound] anger And terrify them with His displeasure, saying, Then he warns them in anger and terrifies them with his fury.  This is the wrath of God.  Why would the church be apart of this judgment? We have already been judged through Jesus death on the cross!  The tribulation is the wrath of God!  Right now we are under the wrath of mankind’s hatred of God!  God is not please with Christ rejectors and Israel for their rejection of Him and Israel owes God one more week for missing the sabbaths.  The church has not part of the wrath of God. God hath not appointed us to wrath but to obtain salvation! 

Revelation 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  This is just horrifying that man would get so terrified that he will run for cover from the wrath of God.  They aren’t running from an earthquake, or a flood or a bomb or a storm they are seeing Jesus coming and they run for their very lives at the fear of facing Jesus Christ!  Think about that!  19:00

Psalm 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. “Yet as for Me, I have anointed and firmly installed My King.  Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” “On Zion,[a] my sacred hill,” he says, “I have installed my king.”  Jesus comes and people will be taken from the earth to hell until the end of the millennium where all the dead in their sins will be judged at the great white throne of judgment.  Jesus will cleanse the earth of sinners and leave only the redeemed of Israel and the redeemed who survived among the gentiles to worship Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords!   He will reign at Jerusalem.  The prophesized king of Israel has finally come and will rule and reign.    They will all answer to Jesus at that day.   All will worship Him and live for Him when the earth becomes heaven on earth actually. 

All of creation boils down to this moment when Jesus, the new Adam, the sinless Adam, becomes the rightful King of the earth.  Serve the King now for you wish you had later! It’s all about Jesus and Jesus is all about His creation.  He loves, He lives and He reigns forever and ever!

Matthew 16:18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The devil and His cohorts didn’t’ win.  Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against the church and they DID NOT! 

 

Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.  Similar to Psalms 2:6. Zion, Israel is where Jesus will rule and reign from.  This is a warning that the day of the Lord is coming.  It is a warning to us today that that day is fast approaching.

Let me share something interesting I discovered last week. 

Six thousand years of man on the earth. 

Six days of creation.  Alluding to man’s time on the earth will be six thousand years.  Genesis before the flood God said man’s days shall be 120 years.  Jubilee year every 50th year.  50 x 120 equal 6,000

A thousand years is as a day.  The day of the Lord is leading up to the last day or last one thousand years otherwise known as the millennium.  God rested on the 7th day.  Man will rest on the 7th day when Jesus rules and reigns on the earth.

4004 BC was Creation according to Bible Chronology

3970 BC Adam sinned (33 ½ years the first Adam was innocent and sinned. The last Adam, Jesus was innocent 33 ½ years and did not sin.)

30 AD Jesus Crucified and resurrected.  That’s four thousand years.  Remember Six is the number of man.

2030 AD Jesus will return???? Two thousand plus four thousand equals six thousand. 

Seven years before the return of Christ the tribulation will begin.

Now until 2023 the rapture could occur??  No one knows the day or the hour but we can know the season.  All this is interesting but all it means is that man’s time is almost up. 

2030 the millennium begins.  One thousand years.  7th day is a day of rest. 

Zephanniah 1:17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Blind to the things of God because of their sin against God.  The plot against God will not end well for those men who join with Satan.   The only explanation for the wickedness and blindness of men today is that they are Satanically influenced.  Mankind is wicked for sure but to sink to the depths of today they have to be influenced by the devil.  Deceivers are deceived themselves the Bible says.  Just like Jacob who deceived his brother was deceived himself by his father-in-law.   But being deceived is not excuse. We are deceived when we reject the truth of God found only in Jesus Christ and His word.  27:00

 

Conclusion:

Bottom line is that those who plot against God will die.  They will not succeed.  They will not win.  They will fail and fail miserably.  They could have had faith in Christ.  They could have had life,  peace,  joy, and true purpose.  They could have gone God’s way and that way is the only way….Jesus Christ!   John 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.  If you don’t have Christ the wrath of God abides on you.  This is proof that the church will NOT experience the WRATH of God during the tribulation.  It is meant for those who have rejected the grace of God.  God has NOT appointed us to wrath but to obtain salvation!  28:04

2 Corinthians 13:5 How Do You Know You Are A Christian?

Intro: Most in not all people think they are going to heaven.  Most think they can go to heaven by NOT being a Christian.  In other words you don’t need the Christian faith, you don’t need Jesus to go to heaven.  In fact most think they can go to heaven without Jesus Christ.  Just be sincere in what you believe, be a fairly good person and do some good things, be religious and be true to yourself or some other mantra like that.  They are not remotely close to going to heaven.  The fact is that only Christians go to heaven because only Christ claimed to be the only way to heaven and IS the only way to heaven.  So If this is so important how can we know we are saved?  How can we know we are a Christian? 1:00

 

  1. Examine Yourself

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith….. Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Put yourselves to the test and judge yourselves, to find out whether you are living in faith. This verse connects with the first part of verse 3 as follows: 2 Corinthians 13:3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. “Since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me …examine your own selves as to whether you are in the faith.” They themselves were the proof of his apostleship. It was through him that they were led to the Savior. If they wanted to see his credentials, they should look at themselves.

 

2 Corinthians 13:5….prove your own selves. Examine yourselves [not me]! Verse 5 is often misused to teach that we should look within ourselves for assurance of salvation, but this could lead to discouragement and doubt. Assurance of salvation comes first and foremost through the word of God. The moment we trust Christ we can know on the authority of the Bible that we have been born again. As time goes on, we do find other evidences of the new life—a new love for holiness, a new hatred of sin, love of the brethren, practical righteousness, obedience, and separation from the world.

 

Rather than demanding proof that Christ was speaking through Paul (v.3), the Corinthians ought to be examining themselves. Paul asks in effect: “Don’t you know yourselves sufficiently well to recognize that Christ Jesus lives within each of you.  Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.] and that therefore you are in the faith?”

 

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.  Stand strong, Christians stand strong in their faith.  Are the Corinthians watching out for their faith?  Are they standing strong?  Christians are to act like men and be strong and unwavering in our faith. Are the Corinthians standing strong in their faith? 

 

Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. 13This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; One of them [Epimenides, a Cretan], a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13 This description is true. So rebuke them sharply so that they will be sound in the faith and free from doctrinal error.  10:00

 

  1. Examine Yourself 2. Know Yourself

2 Corinthians 13:5….Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you…. Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you— Surely you know that Christ Jesus is in you?— Paul is not telling the Corinthians to engage in self-examination as a proof of their salvation. Rather he is asking them to find in their salvation a proof of his apostleship.

 

To Paul, the Corinthians’ belief in the genuineness of their faith carried with it the proof of the genuineness of Paul’s apostleship and Gospel, for he had become their father in Christ Jesus

1 Corinthians 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.  Paul wanted them to know that if they were following Jesus Christ by the preaching and teaching of Paul then he must be a Christian.  DUH!!!   If you know you are following Jesus because that’s what you do….then those who taught you to follow Jesus like you must be trustworthy teachers. 

 

2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure.  We should know whether we are saved or not.  We know we are saved because we have done what the scriptures tell us to do.  Believe, trust, and follow Jesus.  185 times the New Testament says that we are saved by faith, trust or belief in Jesus Christ! 

 

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.   Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my teaching], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out, cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete your own salvation when you are in the presence of Jesus……with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).  19:00

 

  1. Examine Yourself 2. Know Yourself 3.  Test Yourself

2 Corinthians 13:5…..except ye be reprobates?  unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? unless you have completely failed. There were only two possibilities: either Jesus Christ was in them, or they were disqualified, spurious. Although for the sake of emphasis he adds “unless, of course, you fail the test,” he does not really believe the Corinthians are counterfeit, and he knows that no Corinthian is likely to form such a conclusion about himself or herself.

 

The word translated disqualified was used to describe metals which, when tested, were found to be false. So the Corinthians were either true believers, or they were disqualified by failure to pass the test of scripture.  Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.  Did you trust in Jesus Christ?  Are you following Jesus Christ? 

 

As men and women in Christ they themselves formed the verification of his credentials ( 2Corinthians 3:2-3) Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart..

 

Only if they doubted their own salvation should they doubt Paul’s claim to be a true “apostle of Christ Jesus” (2 Corinthians 1:1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:). If they did not fail the test, then neither did he.

 

So How Do You know you are a Christian?

  1. You love other Christians now…..

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.

 

  1. You are Doing…righteousness. You do things God likes. You live and do things for Christ’s sake not just your own.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

 

  1. You know Jesus and you follow Him with your life.  Your life belongs to Jesus and you know that.

John 10:27  My Sheep Hear My Voice and I know them and THEY FOLLOW ME!

 

  1. Christians have faith and Trust in God and His Son Jesus Christ. Faith that doesn’t falter…it might bend but it won’t break.

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith.

 

  1. Christians Know they are Saved

2 Timothy 1:12 ……for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  This sometimes takes awhile for us to get full assurance of our salvation.  We have to mature in our faith to have absolute assurance.  But it will come very soon if we are in the word of God and prayer and in church regularly. 

 

Assurance come when we understand exactly who saved us.  Paul knew he was saved.  Why? Because of who saved him!  It was Jesus Christ!  The only Son of God. The Only creator God who came in flesh. The only one who died for our sins.  The only one who was sinless and could die for my sins and yours.  Your faith is only as good as the thing it is placed upon.  Can Jesus can save you?  Yes, He can according to the word of God.  Does Jesus want to save you?  Yes He does by the word of God.  Will He save you?  yes He will because the Bible tells me so!  27:00

How Do You know You Are A Christian?

We don’t know we are saved by some feeling or emotion.  We don’t know God by following a ritual or by doing something religious. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ Alone!  We know we are saved by what the Bible says.  John 3:16 Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  28:04

2 Timothy 2:1  Be Strong In Grace

Intro:  Grace is God’s riches at Christ’s expense.  Grace is the greatest word in the human language.  It’s greater than love.  What?  Yes.  Without grace we would be lost in sin even though God loves us.  Grace is God giving us His salvation paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Yes love did it but without grace there is no salvation.  When the Bible mentions grace it’s always about Jesus.  Jesus is grace.  Grace equals Jesus.  How can we be strong in grace?  1:00

  1. Most Turn Away From Grace

2 Timothy 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. You know that everyone in the province of Asia, including Phygelus and Hermogenes, has deserted me. You are aware of the fact that all who are in [the province of] Asia turned away and deserted me, Phygelus and Hermogenes among them.  Asia refers to the Roman province of Asia Minor of which Ephesus was the chief city. Phygellus and Hermogenes: Nothing is known of these men besides this citation, although they were well known to Timothy.   

All is probably used to express widespread desertion. Timothy was in Ephesus, the capital of the province of Asia, which today is in western Turkey. Because of Timothy’s position, he would have had direct, personal observation or knowledge of the great defection to which Paul referred. Turned away from me suggests that maybe Paul’s arrest had been a main reason for the desertion. Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 1:8, Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; It’s possible that Paul’s arrest caused fear and people deserted Paul and the work of faith in that area. Of Phygellus and Hermogenes, nothing more is known, although it may be surmised that their mention has really affected Paul in so much that he grieves over their loss.

How many will stay with their faith if our government checks are cut off if we continue to follow Christ and the teaching of the Bible and gather together?  How many will stay in church if they arrest the pastor and threaten all of the others?  How many will stay in the faith if they have to give their home to illegal aliens as they are replaced by them if they continue to go to church?  Paul says ALL have deserted him.  This is awful.  Terrible.  Shameful.  Grace didn’t matter to them.   Grace is the cross.  Jesus came from the portals of heaven to become a man, suffered and bled and died for our sins and we face a little hardship and we desert our Savior?  Not good, that not good at all! 

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. Those who depart are usually not a Christian in the first place. 

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. People who love Jesus will follow Him no matter what the cost.  People who are truly saved if they do depart will eventually come back.   John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  We love Jesus so we will not shirk our duties for Him.  Love makes grace possible and makes people embrace grace.  We are not supposed to ever depart or back down or give in or compromise with the wicked.  We are in an army, we have weapons of warfare the Bible says.  So good soldiers never desert the army! 10:00

2 Timothy 1:16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: May the Lord show mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he cheered me up many times. He was not ashamed that I am in prison, The Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and showed me kindness [comforting and reviving me like fresh air] and he was not ashamed of my chains [for Christ’s sake]; Onesiphorus is mentioned only here and in 4:19. Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. He frequently helped Paul in Ephesus and evidently made a special effort to visit him in Rome.

Onesiphorus refreshed Paul.  Cheered Paul up. Showed kindness to Paul.   Comforted Paul.  Are you a cheerleader for the cause of Christ?  Are we cheering each other on?  Are we kind to others in service for Christ? 

Would you be ashamed if your pastor got arrested for preaching against homosexuality?  Covid vaccines? Evolution? Climate Change?  Would you be ashamed if your pastor got arrested for speaking for one way of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone? 

 

2 Timothy 1:17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. but as soon as he arrived in Rome, he started looking for me until he found me. but [instead] when he reached Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found me—Onesiphorus searched for Paul.  He wanted to find this man of God.  Onesiphorus searched diligently for Paul so that he might encourage him and cheer him up and cheer him on and possibly to learn from this man of God.  One thing we learn from this that Onesiphorus was determined and would not give up til he found Paul.  How diligent are we to find the truth?  How lazy have we become in our search for truth?  We just accept anything that the alphabet channels tells us and our local newspaper tells us.  We don’t question anything anymore.  We have some true believers in Covid vaccinations and Covid masking and Covid is killing the only the unvaccinated.  Well 13% of the deaths in countries where we can find the data are among the unvaccinated.  So…how many does that leave the vaccinated?  87%. 

I know you are sick of hearing about Covid and vaccinations.  I’m sick of talking about it!   But we can’t just sweep facts under the rug because we are sick of hearing about it.  This is the church of the living God!  We will talk about all the issues that affect you and me in this world!  You are NOT getting the truth from media today!  You have to research…..I research every day.  I want to know the truth!  I only share what I have learned so you might be challenged to stop listening to the alphabet network!  Please, I beg you! 

 

2 Timothy 1:18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. May the Lord grant him his mercy on that Day! And you know very well how much he did for me in Ephesus. the Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord on [c]that [great] day. You know very well how many things he did for me and what a help he was at Ephesus [you know better than I can tell you].  Not only did Onesiphorus find Paul He ministered to Paul.   What does it mean to minister?  It means to lift up, exhort, encourage and strengthen in their faith!   Have you ministered to anyone lately?  Well….yes you have!  You are doing that today by being here.  You are encouraging everyone else that is here today.  You minister by always being about the world with Christ in you!  You minister by not taking part in wickedness and saying no to sinful practices.  You minister sometimes by what you don’t do, and by what you will NOT allow than what you do! 

You minister by being a good neighbor.  Do you cause trouble?  No.  Then you are a good neighbor.  You minster to others with a smile, a testimony, and the fact that you keep going and keep on keeping on despite all the fear mongering and hateful rhetoric!    Telling others about Jesus, praying for others, reading the Bible and being prepared to reach others is ministering.

2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  So you, my son, be strong [constantly strengthened] and empowered in the grace that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. As for you, my son, be strong through the grace that is ours in union with Christ Jesus.

Grace is only found in Jesus Christ.   A simple instruction, a simple exhortation. 

But what does Grace do? 

Grace saves us…..Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

 

Grace justifies us…..Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

 

Grace helps us grow in Christ…….  2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

 

Grace keeps us humble…..James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

 

Grace helps us to pray…..Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

 

Grace takes us to heaven….Titus 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  We are given assurance of eternal life by Grace. 

Grace is sufficient for us…..2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

 

Being strong in Grace is to be strong in Christ…for Christ is the living embodiment of Grace! 

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.   I cannot fathom why people want to be weak in the Lord?  Why shouldn’t you be strong?  How do you get strong.  It’s by grace!!  Grace is realizing you can do nothing but it’s all about Jesus!  You can’t be a better Chrsitian with your own effort…you have to walk closer with Christ and let Him make you a better Christian.

You can’t stop drugs and alcohol and smoking by yourself.  You have to give everything sin to Christ and then trust Him to get rid of it in your life!  Grace is taking your hands off your life and giving the wheel to Jesus Christ! 27:00

Be Strong in Grace.

Salvation is by grace through faith…..not by works….pretty simple.  No good deed you can do will get you five seconds in heaven!  You need to be completely born again….not reformed, but totally transformed!  Born again.  New creatures in Christ.  Totally brand new.  That’s why it feels so good the moment you are saved.  You have dropped the chains of sin and guilt and condemnation and put on life and life in Christ Jesus!  Don’t you want that?  You can have it….it’s free.  By grace are you saved through faith in Christ.  28:04

James 1:2-4 I’m Glad When Everything Is Going Wrong

Intro:   Is James crazy to tell when everything is going wrong we should rejoice?  No he is absolutely correct.  How can that be?  Why would we be happy when everything  goes wrong?  Not only is it possible but that is the way every Christian should look at every trial and every trouble! 1:00

 

  1. Trouble causes us to Long for Heaven

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Consider it nothing but joy, my [b]brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way.  Tempations means trials.  1 Peter 4:12-13  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.   Trials are not strange. Everyone has them.  It rains on the just and unjust.  Does God limit our trials?  I don’t know.  Does God save us from some trials.  I think so. 

 

Why do we have trials.  We sinned, God cannot sin.  We ruined everything!  God in his mercy let us live so that we can be redeemed.  We cannot know free choice and free moral agents able to walk with God unless  we are free to rebel against Him.  You don’t marry someone who has to marry you (even though they do in some countries) you marry someone who has chosen you!  God chose to save us and we choose Him by faith and love for Him!  Bingo!  Relationship!  The kind God does not have with angels but only with humans. 

 

Troubles actually draw us closer to Christ and His love.  Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  That’s why we rejoice when we go through trials.  Jesus draws near to us!  A curse becomes and blessing.  So give me more trouble!  But we of course don’t look for trouble.  But when it comes we do everything to avoid it, get around it, go over it.  But Christ wants us to go right into the firery furnace so He can come and be with us in the fire! 

 

But lets’ be honest.  We can grow weary in trials and troubles.  Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  We can get worn out with life and it’s troubles and trials.  Christ gives us these things so we will long for heaven and to be with Christ.  If we had heaven on earth when we became a Christian why would we even want go to heaven?   On earth there is sin and death.  In heaven there is no sin and no death.  I don’t care how good it gets on earth…..nothing can compare to heaven.  1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

 

If I had no trials on earth, no burdens, no troubles…..I still wouldn’t want to stay here….. because of sin and death!  And one more thing….we can’t see Jesus on this earth and in this body.  1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.  But the fact is we can’t be with Jesus on this earth and we can’t avoid sin and death and trials and troubles so we long for heaven where Jesus is because of trials and troubles.  We rejoice in our trials because they always remind us that there is a place that has no trials and no troubles and that place is heaven…the home of God and His children!  10:00

James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure.  Faith cannot grow if it is not exercised.  And faith cannot be exercised until it is stressed.  A muscle cannot grow until it is stressed by a workout.  Our faith is like a muscle.  It has to be stressed in order to grow! 

 

1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

If you have Faith in Christ you will have trials…but don’t be discouraged it is precious to the Lord.  Our faith is tried by fire to make it more pure like gold is refined until you can see your relection then it is pure.  God tries us until He can see Himself in us.  Our groanings and suffering during trials will turn into praise and glory one day soon!  So don’t lose heart! 

 

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.  It is not strange when we go through trials.  It is part of life on this earth.  It rains on the just and the unjust.  All Christians have died in the past and will die in the future unless raptured.   Trials is called life on a sinful, fallen world in rebellions against God!  We are ambassadors for Christ in this world that desperately needs Jesus!  As ambassadors we are subject to the rules of this world.  Rule number one….bad things happen.  Rule number two…bad things will happen to you!  Now of course God protects us from premature death as He did Job.  Nothing will happen to you that does not go by God’s desk first.  He allows our trials to as we said earlier to increase our faith and trust in Him! 

 

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: (Trials) for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  Only the saved can endure trials. It’s an endurance test.  The tribulation is an endurance test for those trapped in it.  Those who endure to the end shall be saved.  Only the saved will endure!  19:00

James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be mature and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.   Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.  Faith during trials makes you unshakable!  Have you seen people that have one bad thing after another happen to them? 

 

Two reasons.  1. Life.  Bad things just happen.  It’s called life.  The Bible tells us that life is brief, like a vapor.  The Bible tells not to boast of tomorrow because it may not come for you.  A fool ignores all the death around them and believes it won’t happen to them.  A wise person prepares for life’s certainties.  Death and taxes.  Tragedies happen.  You may get cancer tomorrow.  People have died from getting hit in the head by a bird.  Whose fault was that?  People have died from unexpected natural disasters.   Is that your fault?  It’s just life!  There used to be a radio mystery show called “dangerous Assignment.”  Where the hero was given assignments by the government that were almost impossible to succeed.  Remember “mission Impossible.”   We are ambassadors for Christ serving Him on a very “dangerous assignment.”   We are on a “mission Impossible” if it were not for the grace and guidance of God!

 

The second reason bad things seem to happen to some more than others….2.  Bad choices.  Please I know that people are hurting right now over the death of a loved one.  So please I understand your sorrow and pain. But the fact is that if you choose to do drugs you may die.  If you work in a dangerous environment you may die.  If you choose to take risks that are unnecessary you may die.    If you ignore health issues you may die.  Yet people blame God for all of our tragedies yet  chose to put your life at risk, you chose to ignore health issues, smoking cigarettes, eating too much, taking too many risks. 

 

But the worst risk you take is when you chose to not prepare for death and you chose to ignore that fact that everyone dies, everyone is mortal and everyone is at risk when you wake up every morning! 

 

14 people die every year from accidents with vending machines!!  The most dangerous thing you did today was drive to church!  Now please understand.  I take risks, I ignore health issues sometimes, I drive to fast, I eat too much sometimes, I take chances.  So I’m like everyone else and when I die from a risk I chose to take…… I can blame no one but myself.  But what the heck….you can’t live in a bubble!  I would rather die on my feet than in the bed cowering in fear!  Tragedies happen.  People have died from getting hit in the head by a bird.  Whose fault was that?  People have died from unexpected natural disasters.   Is that your fault?  It’s just life! 

 

But we can’t live in fear of death!  That’s why we prepare for eternal life with Jesus Christ!  That’s why we settle our eternal destination as soon as we can! 

 

I’m glad when everything goes wrong for how would we appreciate heaven if we have heaven on earth?  We yearn to be with Jesus because we know that that will end our sorrow and our pain and until then we hold on like a roller coaster. Life is like a wooden roller coaster.  it starts out slow and exciting, somewhat boring, but great anticipation.  Like you as a child. Then you reach to top.  That’s adulthood. It becomes a whole new adventure.  It’s all downhill with a few peaks and lots of valleys.  It’s rough, it throws you, it tosses you, It’s thrilling, It’s fun, it’s terrifying, it’s great, it’s fast and quickly it is all over.  And you are so glad when it’s over!    That’s life on this planet earth in our fallen, sinful, beautiful, blessed and cursed world!  27:00

I go to prepare a place for you.  3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  28:04

2 Timothy 2:1  Be Strong In Grace

Intro:  Grace is God’s riches at Christ’s expense.  Grace is the greatest word in the human language.  It’s greater than love.  What?  Yes.  Without grace we would be lost in sin even though God loves us.  Grace is God giving us His salvation paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Yes love did it but without grace there is no salvation.  When the Bible mentions grace it’s always about Jesus.  Jesus is grace.  Grace equals Jesus.  How can we be strong in grace?  1:00

2 Timothy 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. You know that everyone in the province of Asia, including Phygelus and Hermogenes, has deserted me. You are aware of the fact that all who are in [the province of] Asia turned away and deserted me, Phygelus and Hermogenes among them.  Asia refers to the Roman province of Asia Minor of which Ephesus was the chief city. Phygellus and Hermogenes: Nothing is known of these men besides this citation, although they were well known to Timothy.   

All is probably used to express widespread desertion. Timothy was in Ephesus, the capital of the province of Asia, which today is in western Turkey. Because of Timothy’s position, he would have had direct, personal observation or knowledge of the great defection to which Paul referred. Turned away from me suggests that maybe Paul’s arrest had been a main reason for the desertion. Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 1:8, Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; It’s possible that Paul’s arrest caused fear and people deserted Paul and the work of faith in that area. Of Phygellus and Hermogenes, nothing more is known, although it may be surmised that their mention has really affected Paul in so much that he grieves over their loss.

How many will stay with their faith if our government checks are cut off if we continue to follow Christ and the teaching of the Bible and gather together?  How many will stay in church if they arrest the pastor and threaten all of the others?  How many will stay in the faith if they have to give their home to illegal aliens as they are replaced by them if they continue to go to church?  Paul says ALL have deserted him.  This is awful.  Terrible.  Shameful.  Grace didn’t matter to them.   Grace is the cross.  Jesus came from the portals of heaven to become a man, suffered and bled and died for our sins and we face a little hardship and we desert our Savior?  Not good, that not good at all! 

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. Those who depart are usually not a Christian in the first place.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.   I cannot fathom why people want to be weak in the Lord?  Why shouldn’t you be strong?  How do you get strong.  It’s by grace!!  Grace is realizing you can do nothing but it’s all about Jesus!  You can’t be a better Chrsitian with your own effort…you have to walk closer with Christ and let Him make you a better Christian.

You can’t stop drugs and alcohol and smoking by yourself.  You have to give everything sin to Christ and then trust Him to get rid of it in your life!  Grace is taking your hands off your life and giving the wheel to Jesus Christ! 27:00

Salvation is by grace through faith…..not by works….pretty simple.  No good deed you can do will get you five seconds in heaven!  You need to be completely born again….not reformed, but totally transformed!  Born again.  New creatures in Christ.  Totally brand new.  That’s why it feels so good the moment you are saved.  You have dropped the chains of sin and guilt and condemnation and put on life and life in Christ Jesus!  Don’t you want that?  You can have it….it’s free.  By grace are you saved through faith in Christ.  28:04

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18  We are Still Looking For Jesus

Intro:  Are churches today looking for Jesus?  1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.  Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.  2 Timothy 4:8enceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.   I love talking about the rapture.  I still believe in it.  I still look for Him everyday!  This could be the day!  I’ve done this since 1970.  51 years of watching for Him.  Don’t you get discouraged? I must admit I didn’t think it would get this bad. “What did you think the last days would look like” says a famous Bible prophecy teacher.  He’s right.  Did we think we weren’t going to suffer any?  There are birth pangs mentioned in the Olivet discourse.  We are in the middle of them right now! 

 

I must admit that sometimes I wonder if maybe the preterists were right that the church will go through the tribulation and then Jesus will come.  But then I read The passages I’m giving to you today and quickly I regain my confidence that Jesus is indeed going to rapture the church!  1:00

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. Now we do not want you to be uninformed, believers, about those who are asleep [in death], so that you will not grieve [for them] as the others do who have no hope [beyond this present life]. I have something to tell you and we do not want you to be uninformed, believers, about those who are asleep [in death], so that you will not grieve [for them] as the others do who have no hope [beyond this present life].  Jesus is returning with His saints.  How did they get there? There has to be a rapture.

 

Them which are asleep.  for the dead Christians was as certain as the fact of the death and resurrection of Christ. Paul says that God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. Some have inferred from this statement that departed Christians are unconscious until the Second Coming. But the Bible indicates that to be absent from our present body is to be present with the Lord Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.; 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.; Philippians 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Accordingly when a Christian dies, it is the body that sleeps; the soul and Spirit goes to heaven.  Jesus is returning with His saints.  So some are going to be taken to heaven before they die. 

 

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again [as in fact He did], even so God [in this same way—by raising them from the dead] will bring with Him those [believers] who have fallen asleep in Jesus.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again [as in fact He did], even so God [in this same way—by raising them from the dead] will bring with Him those [believers] who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

 

Don’t worry about the dead in Christ.  Jesus will bring them with Him when He returns at the end of the tribulation.   Jesus will bring all His saints with Him.  Is this just the church? Well only the church will be raptured because today the only people saved are in the church.  But what about the Old Testament saints. They are resurrected at the end of the tribulation and will NOT be returning with the church.  They have to wait until the end of the tribulation in order to get their resurrection bodies.  Daniel 12:1-2 At that time Michael, the great prince, the protector of your people, shall arise. There shall be a time of tribulation, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

 

The wicked dead after the tribulation are not resurrected until the end of the millennium.  Revelation 20:4-5 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. 1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep For we say this to you by the Lord’s [own] word, that we who are still alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede [into His presence] those [believers] who have fallen asleep [in death].. For we say this to you by the Lord’s [own] word, that we who are still alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede [into His presence] those [believers] who have fallen asleep [in death].

 

Paul believed that Christ could come in his lifetime, and so did the Thessalonians (see 1:10). precede those who are asleep: Evidently the Thessalonians were concerned that believers who had died would miss the glory associated with the Second Coming. Paul answers their question by affirming that actually those who were dead would go before as we will see in verse 16, go before those living on the earth.

 

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the [b]archangel and with the [blast of the] trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. The order of events at the time of Christ’s coming is clearly given: (1) the Lord will descend with a shout, accompanied by the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God (cf. 1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (2) the dead in Christ will be resurrected; and (3) then those remaining will be caught up with them in the clouds. Dead in Christ is a technical expression for believers of the church age. Caught up (Gr. harpazō, “to seize,” “snatch”): The Latin word for carry off is raptus, from which we get rapture.

 

The doctrine of the Rapture of the church is given its clearest expression in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:17 , although it can also be seen in John 14:1–3; Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  19:00

1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words [concerning our reunion with believers who have died].  Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words [concerning our reunion with believers who have died].  The Christian’s hope of the resurrection brings solace in the face of death—in contrast to the hopelessness of the heathen.

 

The tribulation is the time of Jacobs Trouble.  Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.   Not the churches trouble.  The church is right now under the wrath of man…the tribulation is the wrath of God poured out upon the world not the wrath of man.  Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.  So God has already poured out His wrath upon Jesus Christ as payment for our sins.  If you reject Jesus…..then God will pour out his wrath on you! 

 

Although the word Rapture does not occur in the English Bible (the Latin Bible uses the verb here from which rapture derives), the idea is expressed in the words “caught up.” The Rapture is the first phase of Christ’s return, involving every Christian alive at that time. These Christians will be caught up to meet Him in the clouds, instantaneously receiving glorified bodies. All those who have died “in Christ” will be resurrected; those who are alive and saved at the time of the Rapture will be caught up with Christ before the start of the “Seventieth Week of Daniel,” that is, the Great Tribulation. There are many reasons to believe that the Rapture precedes the Tribulation, but fundamentally this view is consistent with a historical-grammatical interpretation of the Scriptures.

 

A close examination of the prophetic Scriptures reveals a distinction between the Rapture (which relates to the church) and the revelation of Christ in power and glory (which relates more to Israel).

Why aren’t you?  What happened? Maybe you never thought about it before.  Maybe you’ve never had it taught to you before.  Now you have no excuse.  But if you once believed in Jesus return, now you’ve changed your mind…what happened.  Here is what happened….2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.  You are saying…hey where is He?  I give up.  Why would you give up?  We are seeing the nations getting ready to attack Israel lining up.  WE are seeing pestilences, earthquakes, day of Noah and Lot, sacrifice of children to Molech and Baal and Ashtaroth.  One world government being pursued like crazy.  What did you think the last days would look like?   Uhhh just like this!!!!!

 

Trust in Jesus today!  He may come any moment and you surely don’t want be left behind.  He will come like a theif in the night.  No one will expect it when He comes for His church.  Be ready!  28:04

Hosea 13:4-9  It Is Never Enough

Intro:  Author: Hosea 1:1 identifies the author of the book as the Prophet Hosea. It is Hosea’s personal account of his prophetic messages to the children of God and to the world. Hosea is the only prophet of Israel who left any written prophecies which were recorded during the later years of his life.

 

Date of Writing: Hosea, the son of Beeri, prophesied for quite some time, from 785 to 725 B.C. The Book of Hosea was likely written between 755 and 725 B.C.

 

Purpose of Writing: Hosea wrote this book to remind the Israelites—and us—that ours is a loving God whose loyalty to His covenant people is unwavering. In spite of Israel’s continual turning to false gods, God’s steadfast love is portrayed in the long-suffering husband of the unfaithful wife. Hosea’s message is also one of warning to those who would turn their backs on God’s love. Through the symbolic presentation of the marriage of Hosea and Gomer, God’s love for the idolatrous nation of Israel is displayed in a rich metaphor in the themes of sin, judgment, and forgiving love.

 

No matter how good we are to people it’s never enough. People today are not appreciative.  They don’t care what you do for them as long as you do more and more.  We want more government handoust and we don’t care who pays for it.  We want more vaccines and we don’t care what the long term consequences will be.  We want more and more and more.   I remember at Christmas we would get a stocking with fruit and one toy.   What do kids want today?  More and More and More!  1:00

Hosea 13:4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, Yet I have been the Lord your God Since [the time you became a nation in] the land of Egypt; The Lord says, “What’s the matter with you?  I am the Lord your God, who led you out of Egypt. 

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.  God is the great I am.  Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life…   Before Abraham was I am…..God is the source of all we have because He alone is God. 

 

Psalm 81:10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.  This was a great miracle.  Over six million people left Egypt and forty years later they arrived (minus those who sinned by not believing the 12 spies) in the new land together, healthy and without even their shoes or clothes wearing out.  God is a God who provides and gets the job done.  It may be hard, it may be challenging, but it will not be boring that’s for sure.  I can forgive someone anything but boring me.  God is the source of all we have.  He wants to fill us with His spirit and with all of our needs and blessings we can’t even contain. 

 

Hosea 13:4….and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me. And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me.  You have no God but me. I alone am your savior.  The Lord reminded Israel of who He is, what He had accomplished for His people, and what He expected from them. Because He alone was Israel’s God and savior, the Lord expected the people’s undivided loyalty.  Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. No means maybe one or two extra gods, or does it mean a few little gods.  NO means none, nada, absolutely zero other gods.  What is a god?  A god is something you worship and put your hope and trust in and can reward that faith and trust.  False gods can do nothing for you.  they can corrupt you and made god angry and disappointed in you.  So they can do something.    God is the source of all we have why would we want another god that can do nothing for us?

 

Hosea 13:5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.  I knew and regarded you and cared for you in the wilderness,  In the land of drought. I took care of you in a dry, desert land.

Because He knew (cared for) Israel in the wilderness, He had every right to expect them to know (be loyal to) Him.   God cared for His people in the desert for forty years.  He gave them food in the manna.  He gave them everything they needed for a short journey but they rebelled and God kept them there until all the rebels above the age of twenty perished.  God still cared for them even in their rebellion because He is a good God, a holy and just God but He is good to us even in our sin.  If God is the source of all we have…why do we want to try to make it without Him?

 

God knew them in the wilderness. They were His people.  They were supposed to give their loyalty and love to God…but they did not.   How are we like the Israelites today?  God was the source of all they had yet they wanted to make it on their own.

 

Hosea 13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted…. When they had their pasture, they became satisfied,  And being satisfied, their heart became proud (self-centered); But when you entered the good land, you became full and satisfied, and then you grew proud……1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.   Pride come before a fall Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  Pride, cockiness, arrogance, selfishness all lead to a downfall.  What goes up will come down works in science and in society.  You better get used to ups and downs in life.  It very rarely goes the way you want it. And when it does it never enough.  People are never satisfied. Adam and Eve had Eden and it wasn’t enough!    10:00

Hosea 13:6…..therefore have they forgotten me.   Therefore they forgot Me.  And they forgot me.  How sad.  How could this happen?  Jeremiah 13:25 his is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the Lord; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.  They trusted in a lie.  2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.  In the last days people would rather believe a lie, a delusion than believe God.  Delusion is something that they dreamed up and created in their own wicked hearts.  They will forget God and be glad about it! 

 

How can the creature forget the creator? Because they want to.  It’s like when a good person wrongs you.  They did nothing wrong to you but maybe put you in your place one time and made you act like an adult.  So you make up your mind that those people are dead to you.  You never want to speak to them, never want to see them again.  To treat someone  as dead to you that hasn’t done anything but be good to you….and to refuse any attempts at reconciliation or even recognize their existence if you saw them on the street.  That’s the way we treat God.  We hate Him for being good to us.  We hate Him for keeping us from doing things that may harm us.  We hate Him for saying no to us!  So we forget about Him. 

 

That is not going to end well.  Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?  They forgot God. God gave them everything and they forgot Him because it wasn’t enough for them.  They wanted things their own way.  18:00

Hosea 13:7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

So I will attack you like a lion. Like a leopard I will lie in wait along your path. So I will be like a lion to them;  Like a leopard I will watch and lie in wait [ready to attack] by the road [to Assyria].  God will bring judgement when they least expect it.  Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.  Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  God will judge the world when it least expects it. 

 

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  The devil is like a lion always seeking prey.  Always seeking to devour someone and destroy their faith, and ruin their life.  God will judge when they least expect it and the devil likes to imitate God’s swiftness and surprise when he attacks a Christian.  The devil attacks the innocent, God attacks the guilty. 

 

Hosea 13:8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them. I will encounter them like a bear robbed of her cubs, And I will tear open their chests;  There I will also devour them like a lioness.

As a wild beast would tear them. I will attack you like a bear that has lost her cubs, and I will tear you open. Like a lion I will devour you on the spot, and will tear you to pieces like a wild animal.

 

You better run quickly if you encounter bear cubs…. for you know momma isn’t far away and she is going to be attacking first and asking questions later.  The momma bear will judge when they least expect it.  Just taking a walk in the woods enjoying nature.  God will judge when they least expect it. Just living life, enjoying a beer with friends at their favorite bar…..the BAM!  Judgment!

 

Hosea 13:9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. “I will destroy you, people of Israel! Then who can help you?  It is you who have destroyed yourself, O Israel,

Because you are against Me, [and have rebelled] and decided not to help you for you have allowed yourself to be destroyed.   Judgement is coming for Israel when they least expect it in their pride and self-righteousness they don’t even realize what is happening to them.  They have done it to themselves. 

 

Romans 1: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.  We have done as Israel has done. We have forgotten God. We have outlawed God’s word.  We have outlawed God’s church.  We have dark hearts, vain hearts, foolish hearts.  God will judge us when we least expect it.  And we deserve it. Because all that God has given even His great salvation it still isn’t enough man wants to save himself.  27:00

Judges2:10-13  Baal and Ashtaroth

Intro:  Date of Writing: The Book of Judges was likely written between 1045 and 1000 B.C.

 

Purpose of Writing: The Book of Judges can be divided into two sections: 1) Chapters 1-16 which gives an account of the wars of deliverance beginning with the Israelites’ defeat of the Canaanites and ending with the defeat of the Philistines and the death of Samson; 2) Chapters 17-21 which is referred to as an appendix and does not relate to the previous chapters. These chapters are noted as a time “when there was no king in Israel (Judges 17:6; 18:1; 19:1; 21:25).” The Book of Ruth was originally a part of the Book of Judges, but in A.D. 450 it was removed to become a book of its own.

 

Key Verses:

Judges 2:16-19: “Then the LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of these raiders. Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the LORD’s commands. Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them. But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.”

 

Judges 10:15: “But the Israelites said to the LORD, ‘We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.’”

 

Judges 21:25: “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.”

 

Brief Summary: The Book of Judges is a tragic account of how Yahweh [God] was taken for granted by His children year after year, century after century. Judges is a sad contrast to the book of Joshua which chronicles the blessings God bestowed on the Israelites for their obedience in conquering the land. In Judges, they were disobedient and idolatrous, leading to their many defeats. Yet God has never failed to open His arms in love to His people whenever they repent from their wicked ways and call upon His name. (Judges 2:18) Through the 15 judges of Israel, God honored His promise to Abraham to protect and bless his offspring (Genesis 12:2-3).

 

After the death of Joshua and his contemporaries, the Israelites returned to serving Baal and Ashtaroth. God allowed the Israelites to suffer the consequences of worshiping false gods. It was then that the people of God would cry out to Yahweh for help. God sent His children judges to lead them in righteous living. But time after time they would turn their backs on God and return to their lives of wickedness. However, keeping His part of the covenant with Abraham, God would save His people from their oppressors throughout the 480-year span of the Book of Judges.

 

Probably the most notable judge was the 12th judge, Samson, who came to lead the Israelites after a 40-year captivity under the rule of the ruthless Philistines. Samson led God’s people to victory over the Philistines where he lost his own life after 20 years as judge of Israel.

 

And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.  4:00

 

1 Who Was Baalim?

Judges 2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: 

Judges 3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

Judges 8:33 And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.

2 Chronicles 33:3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them

Baal or Baalim was the name of the supreme god worshiped in ancient Canaan and Phoenicia. The practice of Baal worship infiltrated Jewish religious life during the time of the Judges (Judges 3:7), became widespread in Israel during the reign of Ahab (1 Kings 16:31-33) and also affected Judah (2 Chronicles 28:1-2). The word baal means “lord”; the plural is baalim. In general, Baal was a fertility god who was believed to enable the earth to produce crops and people to produce children. Different regions worshiped Baal in different ways, and Baal proved to be a highly adaptable god. Various locales emphasized one or another of his attributes and developed special “denominations” of Baalism. Baal of Peor (Numbers 25:3) and Baal-Berith (Judges 8:33) are two examples of such localized deities.

 

According to Canaanite mythology, Baal was the son of El, the chief god, and Asherah, the goddess of the sea. Baal was considered the most powerful of all gods, eclipsing El, who was seen as rather weak and ineffective. In various battles Baal defeated Yamm, the god of the sea, and Mot, the god of death and the underworld. Baal’s sisters/consorts were Ashtoreth, a fertility goddess associated with the stars, and Anath, a goddess of love and war. The Canaanites worshiped Baal as the sun god and as the storm god—he is usually depicted holding a lightning bolt—who defeated enemies and produced crops. They also worshiped him as a fertility god who provided children. Baal worship was rooted in sensuality and involved ritualistic prostitution in the temples. At times, appeasing Baal required human sacrifice, usually the firstborn of the one making the sacrifice (Jeremiah 19:5). The priests of Baal appealed to their god in rites of wild abandon which included loud, ecstatic cries and self-inflicted injury (1 Kings 18:28).

 

Before the Hebrews entered the Promised Land, the Lord God warned against worshiping Canaan’s gods (Deuteronomy 6:14-15), but Israel turned to idolatry anyway. During the reign of Ahab and Jezebel, at the height of Baal worship in Israel, God directly confronted the paganism through His prophet Elijah. First, God showed that He, not Baal, controlled the rain by sending a drought lasting three-and-one-half years (1 Kings 17:1). Then Elijah called for a showdown on Mt. Carmel to prove once and for all who the true God was. All day long, 450 prophets of Baal called on their god to send fire from heaven—surely an easy task for a god associated with lightning bolts—but “there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention” (1 Kings 18:29). After Baal’s prophets gave up, Elijah prayed a simple prayer, and God answered immediately with fire from heaven. The evidence was overwhelming, and the people “fell prostrate and cried, ‘The LORD–he is God! The LORD–he is God!’” (verse 39).

 

In Matthew 12:27, Jesus calls Satan “Beelzebub,” linking the devil to Baal-Zebub, a Philistine deity (2 Kings 1:2). The Baalim of the Old Testament were nothing more than demons masquerading as gods, and all idolatry is ultimately devil-worship 1 Corinthians 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils..13:00

Judges 2:12 And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.

They provoked God to anger and should have realized this and repented.  So they repented not. 20:00

Judges 2:13 And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

Asherah, or Ashtoreth, was the name of the chief female deity worshiped in ancient Syria, Phoenicia, and Canaan. The Phoenicians called her Astarte, the Assyrians worshiped her as Ishtar, and the Philistines had a temple of Asherah (1 Samuel 31:10). Because of Israel’s incomplete conquest of the land of Canaan, Asherah-worship survived and plagued Israel, starting as soon as Joshua was dead (Judges 2:13).

 

Asherah was represented by a limbless tree trunk planted in the ground. The trunk was usually carved into a symbolic representation of the goddess. Because of the association with carved trees, the places of Asherah worship were commonly called “groves,” and the Hebrew word “asherah” (plural, “asherim”) could refer either to the goddess or to a grove of trees. One of King Manasseh’s evil deeds was that he “took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple” (2 Kings 21:7). Another translation of “carved Asherah pole” is “graven image of the grove” (KJV).

 

Considered the moon-goddess, Asherah was often presented as a consort of Baal, the sun-god (Judges 3:7, 6:28, 10:6; 1 Samuel 7:4, 12:10). Asherah was also worshiped as the goddess of love and war and was sometimes linked with Anath, another Canaanite goddess. Worship of Asherah was noted for its sensuality and involved ritual prostitution. The priests and priestesses of Asherah also practiced divination and fortune-telling.

 

The Lord God, through Moses, forbade the worship of Asherah. The Law specified that a grove of trees was not to be near the altar of the Lord (Deuteronomy 16:21). Despite God’s clear instructions, Asherah-worship was a perennial problem in Israel. As Solomon slipped into idolatry, one of the pagan deities he brought into the kingdom was Asherah, called “the goddess of the Sidonians” (1 Kings 11:5, 33). Later, Jezebel made Asherah-worship even more prevalent, with 400 prophets of Asherah on the royal payroll (1 Kings 18:19). At times, Israel experienced revival, and notable crusades against Asherah-worship were led by Gideon (Judges 6:25-30), King Asa (1 Kings 15:13), and King Josiah (2 Kings 23:1-7).  27:00

 

Conclusion:

I must say a few words about Molech.  The Bible contains the heart-breaking tale of child sacrifice practiced in the name of Molech (also spelled Moloch or Molek), a god of the Ammonites. Molech worship was practiced by the Ammonites and Canaanites, who revered Molech as a protecting father figure. Images of Molech were made of bronze, and their outstretched arms were heated red-hot. Living children were then placed into the idol’s hands and died there or were rolled into a fire pit below. Some sources indicate a child might also be “passed through the fire” prior to the actual sacrifice in order to purify or baptize the child. Molech worship occurred in the Hinnom Valley near Jerusalem. Because of this, the valley became associated with the idea of Tophet, or hell (Isaiah 30:33; Jeremiah 19:12; Mark 9:45).

 

God prohibited Israel from child sacrifice in general and Molech worship in particular. Leviticus 20:2-5 states, “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death, I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.’” Many other Old Testament passages affirm God’s zero-tolerance for child sacrifice.

 

Sadly, King Solomon became involved in this horrendous practice, as recorded in 1 Kings 11:4-11, “As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been. He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the LORD. . . . On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. . . . The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the LORD’s command.”

 

Later, the evil king Manassah offered his own son as a sacrifice (2 Kings 21:6), as did King Ahaz (2 Chronicles 28:1-4). The people of Judah participated in this crime against their own sons—a sin so “detestable” that God said it had never even crossed His mind (Jeremiah 32:35). Child sacrifice was one reason for the Babylonian captivity (verse 36).

 

Some critics of the Bible point to the story of Abraham, who laid his son Isaac on an altar and prepared to sacrifice him as directed by God (Genesis 22:1-14). However, in this case, God was testing the obedience and faith of Abraham. God stopped him from actually following through and provided a ram as a substitute sacrifice.

 

Today, child sacrifice is practiced throughout the world. There has been a resurgence of child sacrifice in Uganda. Witch doctors have been implicated in the mutilation and death of children who were killed in an effort to bring good fortune and wealth to those willing to pay for it. There is also a correlation between child sacrifice and modern-day abortion. Unprecedented numbers of children have been “sacrificed” at the hands of abortionists for the sake of convenience, immorality, or pride. Hundreds of thousands of babies have been killed so that their parents can maintain a certain lifestyle. God hates “hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:17), and we can be sure that God will judge this horrendous sin.Baal, Molech and Ashtaroth had children sacrificed to them. 

 

These three gods are still alive today.  Because we still sacrifice children today.  We still do that today.  It’s called abortion.  It’s called child trafficking.  It’s called child abuse.  They love innocent children to be harmed and killed and innocent blood shed.  It empowers them.  You are never more like a devil than when you harm a child.  Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Suffer these little ones to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God.   A special judgment is reserved for those who harm children.  Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.  28:04

Acts 9:18-20  Scales On Their Eyes

Intro: Scales indicate something satanic.  Snakes have scales.  Paul was satanically blinded because he could not see the truth of Jesus Christ.  Like many today are blinded by the god of this world who seeks to hide the truth of the gospel from all of us.  1:00

 

  1. Sight Restored

Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: At once something like fish scales fell from Saul’s eyes, Immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, This is unique in Scripture. In every case in which Jesus healed a blind man, sight was restored, but no physical barrier to sight fell away. Satan is the prince of the power of the air and the god of this world.  He lives to blind us all to the truth of Jesus Christ.  The scales remind me of something Satanic.  Bottom line is that Saul was blinded by the devil now that has been removed.  Also fish have scales that allow them to stay in the water It keeps the water from penetrating and breaking down their bodies.  Scales in Saul’s eyes kept him from seeing the truth.   His sight was retored but he now truly sees.

 

Immediately….When we receive Christ it is immediate salvation…not progressive.  But it was not removed at his encounter with Jesus Christ.  Jesus used one of his servants to do his work as the church is not the hands of God in this world.  Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.  Jesus healed this man’s eyes immediately and completely.  Saul was immediately healed through one of Jesus servants.    His sight was restored now he truly sees.

 

Fell from his eyes….this had to be strange to Anninias.  It was so obvious that Saul was blinded that even Annianias could see it.   When we are saved an obvious change comes over us.  Sight is restored how amazing when that happens?

 

Acts 9:18…..and he received sight forthwith, and he was able to see again. And he regained his sight.  He now saw….everything.  His sight was changed.  What he saw before he now saw completely differently.  Luke 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.  His sight was restored…right now!

 

Acts 9:18….and arose, and was baptized.  He stood up and was baptized.   Then he got up and was baptized.  Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  Every true believer wants to be baptized because now we see what it really means.  Our sight is restored now we truly see.   10:00

Acts 9:19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. and after he had eaten, his strength came back.   And he took some food and was strengthened.  Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.  2 Timothy 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.  His strength is restored now he is truly strong in the Lord.

 

Acts 9:19…..Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. Saul stayed for a few days with the believers in Damascus. Saul Begins to Preach Christ.   For several days [afterward] Saul remained with the disciples who were at Damascus.  Acts 9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.    His strength is restored he is truly strong in the Lord.

 

Galatians 1:16-18  To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.  His strength is restored He is now truly strong in the Lord.   19:00

Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.  He went straight to the synagogues and began to preach that Jesus was the Son of God.   And immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “This Man is the Son of God [the promised Messiah]!”  Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.  Truth is restored now he knows the truth is a person, not a set of beliefs. 

 

Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel.  Truth is restored for truth is in a person not a set of beliefs and creeds to live by.  We live for Christ and Christ lives in us.  27:00

Hebrews 3:12-13   Three Steps to Depart From God

Intro: Three steps to greatness.  Graduate from high school or college, get a good job.  Then get married and have children.  Biblical steps to greatness….Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.  But sadly people instead follow the steps to departing from God in our world today. Even Christians follow these steps every day.  1:00

 

  1. First Step Being Asleep

Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, Take care, brothers and sisters, My friends, be careful.  Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  Wake up from being asleep.  First step being asleep.  10:00

Hebrews 3:12…..lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving [d]heart.  that none of you have a heart so evil and unbelieving.  Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.  Second step is unbelief.  19:00

Hebrews 3:12…..in departing from the living God. [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God.  that your evil heart will turn you away from the living God. 2 Timothy 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.  Third step is departing, walking away, stopping. 

 

Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], Instead, you must help one another every day, as long as the word “Today” in the scripture applies to us.  The third step is departing so we should help those who have departed to come back…..while we can. 

 

Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,  5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  Only God can bring those back that have gone so far as to crucified their faith in Christ and by their lives have shamed the gospel of Christ.  Only God can turn them around.  Nothing we can do or say.  This is complete departure from the faith and leads to sleeping, or early death.  Some sleep because of disobedience.  Annias and Saparhia. 

 

Hebrews 3:13….. lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication]. , in order that none of you be deceived by sin and become stubborn.  Third step is departing.  We depart because we have been deceived by lies and lust.  Matthew 24:4 Take heed that no man deceive you.  27:00

Three steps to depart from God. 

Which step are you on?  You shouldn’t be on any of them.  But some are.  Some have drunk the kool aid of secualar humanism, and world views that contradict the Bible.  Which step are you on? Recognize where you are and repent and return to the Lord.  Get back in the Bible, get back to your prayer closet, get back to a good church. 28:04

Colossians 2:12-15  What God Did for Us

Intro:  What is the best thing someone ever did for you?  Well your mother did a wonderful thing of bringing you into the world.  Your spouse did a wonderful thing by marrying you.  Soldiers have done a great thing for you by giving their life for your freedom.  Your company did a good thing by giving you a job. The bank did a good thing by giving you the money to by a car or buy a house.  So people have done many great things for us.  But can you believe that most people could care less about these things?  They sure don’t care what God has done for them.  What did God do for us?  He gave us life.  He gave us a family. He gave us a spouse, put us in a free country, gave us a job, a house, a car, children and grandchildren and pretty good health for many of us.   But we have left out the most important things God has done for us….1:00

 

  1. God Forgave Us our Sins

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ through your faith in the active power of God, who raised him from death.  Having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him [to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God, [as displayed] when He raised Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Baptism doesn’t save us but pictures what God did for Christ and what Christ has done for us….raised up from the dead.  We were dead in trespasses and sins and now we have new life in Jesus Christ. We have been born again!    God forgave our sins through our faith in Jesus Christ. 

 

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; You were at one time spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were Gentiles without the Law. We were dead.  No hope.  No life in us.  No chance.  With all that against us God found a way to forgive us our sins. 

 

But God has now brought you to life with Christ.  Because Christ lives we live.  God forgave us all our sins; ALL of our sins.  Not just sins up to the time you are saved…but all sins, past, present and future!  God not only forgave us our sins but ALL of our sins…past, present and future!

 

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (worldliness, manner of life).  Our flesh is sinful.  That is our old self that needs to be redeemed.  Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: God made you alive together with Christ, having [freely] forgiven us all our sins.   We have had all of our sins forgiven… ALL of them!  All trespasses.  All greviances against God have been forgiven.  Not only are we forgiven but we have been justified, made legally as though we had never committing a sin ever!!  God forgave us all of our sins.  10:00

 

  1. God Nailed Our Sins to the Cross

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; he canceled the unfavorable record of our debts with its binding rules  All of them.  God cancelled our sin debt to Him.  Blotting out our sin debt and marking it paid in full!   Psalm 69:27-28 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.  God nailed our sins to the cross of Christ. 

 

And God did away with our sin debt completely by nailing it to the cross.  God nailed our sins to Christ’s cross.  Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

 

God having canceled out the [g]certificate of debt consisting of [h]legal demands [which were in force] against us and which were hostile to us. And this certificate He has set aside and completely removed by nailing it to the cross.  God nailed our sins to the cross.  And that cross can carry all of our sins because of who was on that cross.  19:00

 

  1. 3. God Gave Us Total victory

Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. And on that cross Christ freed himself from the power of the spiritual rulers and authorities;[b] he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in his victory procession.  God gave us total victory making the public crucifixion of Jesus the slap in the face of the devil and all of his plans and schemes to destroy mankind. 

 

When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through [i]the cross.  God have us total victory. 

 

Is this where Jesus went and preached to the spirits in prison..Hell!  1 Peter 3:19-20 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;  20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.  Which He also went and preached to the spirits that are now in prison, 20 who once were disobedient during the time when Noah was building the ark. These could be the spirits left when the angels who mated with women and the offspring were killed in the flood. When the great patience of God was waiting in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons [Noah’s family], were brought safely through the water.  Jesus announced total victory over the spirits in hell! 

 

I believe It’s got something to do with Noah or Peter wouldn’t have mentioned him.  Jesus preached to some spirits announcing the victory of the cross!  The whole purpose of the Angels mating with humans basically and there were other reasons such as corrupting man’s gene pool.  But The whole purpose was to keep Jesus from being born and being the Lamb of God!  Jesus announced total victory over sin, death, hell and those in hell and the grave!  27:00

 

Conclusion:  What God did for us…..he forgave us all of our sins and nailed them to the cross forever and ever!  Never to be held to our account again!  What a wonderful God we serve.  What a wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord, what a wonderful Savior to you and to me!  Do you know Him?  Have you received Him and believe on Him and trusted in Him?  Today is the day.  28:04

Psalms 52:1-9   Two Types Of People

Intro: There are many books written about personality traits and personality types.  Which type are you?  I’ve read some of these books.  While they are interesting and maybe even accurate to a degree what does it really matter in the long run?  I am what I am because God made me that way.  But according to God there are only two types of people.  Wicked and Righteous!  So leave it to God to really simplify it.  1:00

 

  1. The Wicked Man

Psalm 52:1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?  Why do you boast, great one, of your evil?  Psalm 44:8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.  Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.  The mighty fell to the wrath of God during the flood and will fall again when the world is purged by the fire of God’s wrath during the tribulation.  They image and do evil, michief, wickedness all day long.  Psalm 38:12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

 

Psalm 52:1….the goodness of God endureth continually.

The lovingkindness of God endures all day long.  God’s faithfulness is eternal.  Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?  They want to do evil despite the goodness of God upon the wicked.  Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

 

Psalm 52:2    Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You make plans to ruin others;

 your tongue is like a sharp razor. You are always inventing lies.  James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Psalm 52:5    God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living.Selah

But God will break you down forever; He will take you away and tear you away from your tent,

And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah. So God will ruin you forever; he will take hold of you and snatch you from your home; he will remove you from the world of the living.  2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

 

Psalm 52:6    The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

The righteous will see it and fear, And will [scoffingly] laugh, saying, Righteous people will see this and be afraid; then they will laugh at you and say.  Proverbs 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh. 

 

Psalm 52:7    Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

“Look, [this is] the man who would not make God his strength [his stronghold and fortress],

But trusted in the abundance of his riches, Taking refuge in his wealth.” “Look, here is someone who did not depend on God for safety, but trusted instead in great wealth and looked for security in being wicked.”   Proverbs 11:28  He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.  19:00

Psalm 52:8  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;

I trust [confidently] in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. But I am like an olive tree growing in the house of God; I trust in his constant love forever and ever.  Jeremiah 17: 7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.  8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

 

Psalm 52:9    I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. I will thank You forever, because You have done it, [You have rescued me and kept me safe]. I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.  I will always thank you, God, for what you have done;  in the presence of your people.  I will proclaim that you are good.  Isaiah 45:22Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.  27:00

 

Conclusion:   Two types of People.  1 John 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  You can’t get around it.  No middle ground.  Like there are only two sexes.  You can invent all you want to but it all comes down to X or Y chromosomes.    So it is with people.  You are either saved or lost.  Born again or condemned.  Ye must be born again….. because ye must be born again.   28:04

Matthew 13:11-16  The Cause Of Blindness

Intro:  Blindness affects 2.2 billion people in the world today.  The numbers are rising.  The main reason is the lack of decent eye care.  Near-sightedness can lead to blindness if not treated properly in time.  Untreated Cataracts and failing eye sight in the elderly leads to blindness among the undeveloped nations of the world.  Myopia or near-sightedness is exploding due to children spending so much time on their devices.  Diabetes patients will all experience some kind of vision problems.  The cause of Much blindness of our eyes is preventable but the poor can’t access doctors and those who can often do not.   There is a spiritual blindness  also.  Those who are spiritually poor aren’t looking for a cure and those who know about the cure won’t access it because they both think they can see. 1:00

 

  1. They Can’t See

Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.   This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things]. The reason I use parables in talking to them is that they look, but do not see, and they listen, but do not hear or understand.

 

They think they see….but they don’t see…they are truly blind.   Not to physical things…but to spiritual things. They are blind to God’s work in this world.  They can’t see the truth of God’s word until they have the Holy Spirit to teach them.  God has not revealed all truth to them beyond Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross for our sins.  So Jesus spoke in parables. 

 

Why?  So that only the spiritual atune could understand.  The Bible is that way.  Much of it can be understood by the wicked but the deeper things cannot be.  Even though we all can read the words…the true meaning is hidden.  Isaiah 48:6 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.  They cannot see and will not see.  Just like people today who scoff at the Bible and the truth of the word of God!

 

Matthew 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.  In them the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand;  And you will look and keep on looking, but never comprehend; So the prophecy of Isaiah applies to them: ‘This people will listen and listen, but not understand; they will look and look, but not see,

 

The people Jesus was talking to were the living fulfillment of Isaiah 6:9-10 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.  The can’t see.

 

Israel’s heart had grown dull and their ears were insensitive to the voice of God. They deliberately refused to see with their eyes. They knew that if they saw, heard, understood, and repented, God would heal them. But in their sickness and need, they refused His help. Therefore, their punishment was that they would hear but not understand, and see but not perceive.  They can’t see. 

 

Israel got in trouble because of their lack of faith and their following after other gods the gods of Molech, Asterah and Baal.  These gods hate humans and hate children and children were sacrificed to them to feed their hate and and power.  We are doing that today when we feed our children to the gods of Molech Asterah and Baal when we abort children.  We feed their power in the world.  The can’t see what they are doing they are so blinded to the things of God and righteousness!  Acts 28:26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive.  10:00

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Jesus replied to them, “To you it has been granted to know the [b]mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. Jesus answered, “The knowledge about the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.  Jesus would help His followers to see the truth and to understand what He was saying.  Later the Holy Spirit will help us and teach us.  We talked about mysteries last week.  This is the Why can’t they see?

 

A mystery in the NT is a fact never previously known by man, which man could never learn apart from divine revelation, but which has now been revealed. The mysteries of the kingdom are hitherto unknown truths concerning the kingdom in its interim form. The very fact that the kingdom would have an interim form had been a secret up to now. The parables describe some of the features of the kingdom during the time when the King would be absent. Some people therefore call this “the mystery form of the kingdom”—not that there is anything mysterious about it but simply that it was never known before that time.  Why can’t they see it?….they didn’t see it in the Prophets of the Old Testament. 

 

Matthew 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.  For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him. For the person who has something will be given more, so that he will have more than enough; but the person who has nothing will have taken away from him even the little he has.

 

The disciples had faith in the Lord Jesus; therefore, they would be given the capacity for more. They had accepted the light; therefore, they would receive more light. The Jewish nation, on the other hand, had rejected the Light of the world; therefore they were not only prevented from receiving more light, they would lose what little light they had. Light rejected is light denied.  This is why they can’t see.

 

Matthew 13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  For this nation’s heart has grown hard, And with their ears they hardly hear, And they have [tightly] closed their eyes, Otherwise they would see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, and turn [to Me]  And I would heal them [spiritually].’ because their minds are dull, and they have stopped up their ears and have closed their eyes. Otherwise, their eyes would see, their ears would hear, their minds would understand, and they would turn to me, says God, and I would heal them.’

 

 

Matthew 15:8 his people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.    Why can’t they see? Their hearts are far from Jesus.  No faith means no eyes to see and hears to hear what God is doing in this world.  19:00

Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. But blessed [spiritually aware, and favored by God] are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. “As for you, how fortunate you are! Your eyes see and your ears hear.  Blessed are those who see.

 

If you have good eyesite you are blessed indeed.  How awful it must be to be unable to see.  How awful it is for those who can’t see Jesus and His truth.  They are the anti-blessed I guess you could say.

 

Have you seen the ocean, the great rocky mountains?  Have you seen the world from the clouds?  It is a great blessing to see the beauty of God’s creation.  The disciples were tremendously privileged because they were seeing what no one had seen before. The prophets and righteous men of the OT had longed to be living when the Messiah arrived, but their desire had not been fulfilled. The disciples were favored to live at that crisis moment in history, to see the Messiah, to witness His miracles, and to hear the incomparable teaching which came from His lips.  What blessed men.  How blessed we are to live in a time when we have the Bible, we have Jesus and we can have faith and trust in Him! 

 

Many blessings are promised in the Bible we are even promised a blessing for reading the book of Revelation!… Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Blessed are those who see and read the word of God!  Some people can’t read due to vision problems.  How blessed we are to be able to read the Bible. Don’t waste that blessing!

 

We are blessed if we are looking for and anticipating the Lord’s return!  Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.  Blessed are those who will see the Lord coming for them even though it will be in the twinkle of an eye we will see it all unfold as we are wisked up into the presence of the Lord!

 

Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed are those who see their sinfulness and who see that they are sinners in need of a Savior. Blessed are the poor in spirit who are spiritally bankrupt and know that they need Jesus!  What a blessing to realize you need Jesus!  Only then can you be saved! 

 

Daniel said that we would understand in the last days what God is doing….Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. To understand is to see.  Blessed are those who see!

Joshua 1:7-9 Three Things To Be In Times like These

Intro:   A song from the sixties had these words…..“In times like these we need a Savior, In times like these, We need an Anchor, In times like these, We need the Bible. In times like these, O be not idle.  Be very sure, be very sure your anchor holds and grips the solid rock.  This rock is Jesus, yes he’s the one, this rock is Jesus the only one. I’m very sure, I’m very sure my anchor holds and grips the solid rock.”  In times like these we need to remember three things that God told Joshua to be……1:00

 

  1. Be Focused

Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do [everything] in accordance with the entire law which Moses My servant commanded you; Just be determined, be confident; and make sure that you obey the whole Law that my servant Moses gave you.  the law is fulfilled today in Jesus Christ.  So today we would be told to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.  John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. 

Be focused on the word of God. 

 

Joshua 1:7 ….turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper and be successful wherever you go.. Do not neglect any part of it and you will succeed wherever you go.  Don’t get weary in well doing….keep on keeping on following the Lord Jesus Christ.  Moses was the Law giver.  Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.  Moses was greater than all Jews except John the Baptist and Jesus of course and he was faithful to teach the law.  He knew God as a friend and God gave him the law as our guide to what God expects of us.  The law was given to prepare us for the Savior that would come. 

Be focused so much that you don’t leave the path you are on. 

 

Don’t waver in your faith.  Don’t stifle it with fear.  Joshua was told to fear not many times.  Be Focused as God encourages Joshua many times.  Joshua is the Hebrew version of the name Jesus.  Joshua= Yehshua which means Yahweh saves.  The English spelling of “Yeshua” is Joshua.   But when translated from the Hebrew in to Greek, the original language of the New Testament, the Yehshua becomes Jesus in English.  Jesus means Yahweh saves or Yaweh is salvation. 

 

Be focused on your faith, be strong and very courageous.  1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We are to be so focused on Christ that these ten things will not cause us to fear.  Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, (life happens, bad things happen) nor angels, (fallen angels, demons) nor principalities,(The wicked devils behind the world elite demonic people) nor powers (Corrupt governments), nor things present,(Covid, Vaccine mandates, bad times, uncertainty) nor things to come,(Bible Prophecy lining up) 39 Nor height, (no matter how big our problems look) nor depth,No matter how hopeless things may seem) nor any other creature,(other pestilences, false teachers and preachers, liars and evil in general) shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth that is we should be sure that the book of the Law is always read in your worship.  Be careful, take care about the Bible.  Observe means to be obedient or in the habit of.  We should have the habit of being in the Bible everyday and when we meet together Bible reading should be our habit. 

 

Joshua 1:8 …..but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, Study it day and night.  How many of you read the Bible in the morning or afternoon in your personal Bible reading and have a closing devotional passage to end the day?  Make it a habit, be careful to protect your Bible reading time.   Make it a habit to read to understand and really look at each passage.  Meditate means to reflect upon the passage.  Understand the context of each passage.  Who is it talking about? When did it happen?  What is happening?  Where are they at?   Be obedient to your personal Bible reading time.

 

In times like these nothing is more important than the word of God for truth, direction, instruction and encouragement!

 

Joshua 1:8 …..that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; and make sure that you obey everything written in it.  The Bible is our guide to life and eternal life.  Walk in a grave yard. Every person represented there is in eternity. They either are with Jesus or not.  Did they obey what the Bible told them?  To trust and have faith in Jesus Christ! To follow Jesus every day?   And if you are a Christian, do you have a Biblical world view?  Or do you follow the Alphabet world view?  ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX etc.  Be obedient to the word of God and what it says. 

 

Joshua 1:8…… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be [d]successful Then you will be prosperous and successful.   Be obedient to the word of God and you will have success in faith, in truth, and in personal joy!  God says you will prosper!  God says you will be successful!  Proper in your faith and be successful in your walk with Christ.   God already promised to meet your needs now He meets our need for satisfaction, accomplishment, a good name, peace and joy.  Be obedient to following Jesus Christ and you will have great success and joy!  19:00

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage…. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous!  Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident!  God commanded Joshua to be strong.  We are not to cave in to fear and intimidation.  Ever!  We should always use the brain we have been given by God and not act presumpiously.

 

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.  The first rule is if men contradict the word of God then we obey God!  That takes courage and inner strength that comes from the Holy Spirit and from our confidence and knowledge of the Bible and it’s truth.  John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.  Does God want a weak, cowardly church?  Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  The gates of hell cannot win against Jesus Christ and HIS church!  Wow!  We should be able to march into hell with a water pistol with no fear!  Didn’t David slay the great fearsome warrior Goliath with a simple sling?

 

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  How can we fear when we have so great a God, So great a salvation and so great a Savior!   Greater is He that is in you than any army, any disease, any mad man, and all the wicked devils of hell!!!  We have already overcome. We believed in Jesus so we are already in heaven so to speak. We have already made it there, we just aren’t there physically yet, we are already there spiritually for we are already in Christ and Christ is in us!   Be strong!

 

Joshua 1:9 …..be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed….. Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated),

Do not be afraid or discouraged.  We are not to be intimidated by these evil people that promote same sex marriage, transgenderism, Evolution, Climate change, vaccine mandates and all the godless anti-Christ agenda that is being formed before our very eyes!  We are not to be surprised that wicked people act Wickedly!  What did you think the last days would look like?  To set up the anti-Christ kingdom will take time and preparation.  We are being prepped for the end of the show people!  How are you going to prepare!  Jesus said “Be ye therefore Ready”  Are we getting ready?  How do we get ready?  Read the Bible, go to your prayer closet daily, follow Jesus not the new media, follow Jesus not the crowd.  Be ready to be raptured or be ready to die for your faith.  That’s being ready! That’s being strong!

 

People today are so angry with anyone that thinks differently than they do.  People actually believe that Fauci is telling the truth!  People actually trust the government.  George Carlin said and I am no fan of his atheism but He said “Never trust the government! Never, ever trust the government!”  So don’t be afraid, be informed, be filled with the Holy Spirit who will give you wisdom that will cofound the sheeple who have been led astray by the wicked cabaalist cult that is ruling the world.    Be strong for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness.

 

They love it when people die of Covid.  They have no empathy.  They have no pity.  They want the earth down to one billion people.  Baal, Asteroth, Dagon, Moolech all Old Testament false gods actually devils, that want dead children and want children for their own lusts are leading the Cabaal today!   Be strong against this wickedness by understanding it and fighting for our children’s lives!

1 Timothy 3:15-16  The Mystery Revealed

Intro:  There are many mysteries in the world.  The mystery of Stone Henge, and the UFO’s, big foot and the Lochness monster.  We have the mystery of the human mind and the mystery of who killed JFK? And Did OJ do it?  One mystery has been answered.  The Old Testament prophets didn’t know about Jesus Christ and the church.  It was not revealed to them.  It was a mystery.  How can one have their sins forgiven and walk with God?  How can paradises be restored that mankind lost at the garden of Eden?  That has all been answered…..1:00

 

  1. The House Of God

1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

in case I am delayed from coming to see you, so that you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. But if I delay in coming to see you, this letter will let you know how we should conduct ourselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.  The house of God is God’s house!

The church is the mystery not revealed in the Old Testament.  The church has been revealed.  The church is where truth is taught and preached.  The church is where you will find salvation.  The church will teach you hwo God wants to reach out to you.  The church will tell you about His word.  The Church will give you the word of God.  Thy word is truth.  John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.  The foundation of the church is the truth taught by the apostles, the word of God, taught in the house of God by men of God!

If you are a Christian and you don’t go to church you are missing the place where truth and foundations are established.  Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  Don’t tell me you follow the truth and do NOT go to church, a physical building where the church meets.  The church is the people not the building.  But they have to have a place to meet.  Don’t tell me you can’t find a church that teaches the word of God…..You are in one right now…you are listening to one right now!  There are many others like us!  Not as many as there used to be….but there are some.  Pray about it.  You may have to drive an hour.  You drive and hour or two to go to the mall, you fight traffic for an hour to get to Walmart!  Surely you can go to a Bible believing, Bible preaching church and drive an hour to go to the House of GOD!

Multiple choice question….Paul established……Jewish synogogues, Tent making focus groups, or churches?  If Paul established bodies of believers called churches and the gave the outline for establishing leadership in the churches……. then how much more today do we need to go to a local body of Believers in a Church building?  Paul wrote to the church at…

Thessalonica,

And to the leaders of theses churches including, Titus, Timothy, James, Jude, Peter, John, Barnabas, Silas, and others….

If churches are not important then why so much emphasis on them in the New Testament?

Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.   Yet Christians today just sit at home and do their own thing and never go to church, never read their Bibles and never enter into a prayer closet!  And we become completely demoralized!  How can people that come to the House of God get demoralized?

 

The devil is trying to demoralize the church. The devil is demoralizing people everywhere.  This means that people just give up and accept their fate and do nothing about it.  Covid is demoralizing Americans by all the fear and confusion.  Stolen elections has demoralized Americans.  We should never give up and accept our lives without the church.  WE must fight back and fight the good figtht of faith.  We are soldiers in God’s army.  An army fights and never gives up, never backs down and never gives in!  We are that army of God meeting in the house of God!

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

And great, we confess, is the mystery [the hidden truth] of godliness.  No one can deny how great is the secret of our relationship with Jesus Christ the head of the Church.

There is no secret to the mystery of Godliness.  A mystery is something hinted at but the truth about is hidden.  In the Old testament the Church was hinted at…with Israel, the tabernacle, the temple, the land of Israel itself.  In the New Testament it has been totally revealed.  Godliness can only be explained and experienced when the mystery is revealed. 

Mark 4:11 Jesus said…. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.  The mystery of of being godly is revealed.  How to become truly a person who loves God and knows how we can be reconciled to Him is the mystery revealed.  The mystery of Godliness is revealed in the New Testament. 

 

Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Mystery solved!  It’s Christ and the church!  The mystery of Godliness is becoming a part of the Church established by Jesus Christ!  The mystery of Godliness is revealed.  So there is no controversy…no secret to be discovered by the elite….it is available for every person in the world! 

There is another mystery in the New Testament…..1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.  Some of us will not die but be taken to heaven! 

Here is another mystery….2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  The mystery of the coming evil one who has not been revealed yet, but will one day be revealed.

There are three mysteries in the book of Revelation….The mystery of God, ,Revelation 10:7, mystery Babylon, Revelation 17:5 and the mystery of the woman and the beast which carrieth her, Revelation 17:7.  These mysteries are the secrets of God’s judgments and how God will complete world history revealed.  

The mystery of how we escape Tribulation and judgement and obtain Godliness is reveled…and how amazing it is!  19:00

1 timothy 3:16  God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.   He appeared in human form, was shown to be God’s Son by the Spirit,  and was seen by angels.  He was preached among the nations, was believed in throughout the world, and was taken up to heaven.

The secret not revealed in the Old Testament, not seen by the prophets is none other than Jesus Christ!  He is the fulfillment of all their prophetic writings and all their doings!  The mystery revealed!  We always love the end of a great mystery movie or novel when we find out all the mysteries.   We always say…I never saw that coming!  The mystery is that we are given hints, we are given the cast of Characters and we are left to figure out “who done it?”  The Lord has given us many hints in OT prophecies and New Testament prophecies that have all the answers shrouded in mystery.  It is so interesting!  Way better than any mystery novel because this is truth! 

God was manifested in the flesh….jesus Christ

God was Justified in the Spirit…..The Spirit of God fell upon Jesus

Seen of Angels…. Angels declared him and ministered to Him

Preached unto the Gentiles……For God so loved the world, whosever believeth in Him

Believed on in the world….People in the whole world will know about Jesus and trust in Him.

Received up into Glory…..Jesus ascended into heaven and will one day descent to rule and reign on the earth!

Mystery Revealed….it’s all about Jesus Christ!

Jesus is no mystery today.  The only mystery yet is when….when will Jesus come for His church? When will Jesus come back to rule and reign on the earth? When?  Well we have the answer to that…..Quickly! Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

He will come when we least expect it…..So be ye therefore ready…..we have the mystery of God revealed to us. We are of all generations most fortunate so we have no excuse for not trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior from our sins that have separated us from our God.  Hence the mystery of how God will reestablish His creation to Himself is now revealed.  Jesus Christ is the mystery and Jesus Christ will fulfill all history. Amen!

2 Corinthians 6:14-17   Unholy Alliances

Intro:  We know that there are alliances today with different evil groups and they have one thing in common…They are evil!  But when evil people and good people get together the good usually turn bad.  Why is that? We are sinful people with a sinful nature so we are already bent to sinning.  And that is the reason we always need to watch who we hang around with and where we hang out at.  Unholy alliances come when unholy people somehow get into an alliance with Holy people.  That should not happen.  Unholy people can cause us to stray from our faith.  What is an unholy person?  Be ye holy as I am holy. Holy people follow Jesus who has made us holy.  Unholy people DO NOT follow Jesus Christ plain and simple.  2:00

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: Do not try to work together as equals with unbelievers, for it cannot be done. Do not be unequally bound together with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them, inconsistent with your faith].  Luke 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.  Unbelievers do not have saving faith in Jesus Christ.  Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

 

It’s okay to be friends with unbelievers for how are we going to win them to Christ if we don’t?  But you know that we are not to marry unbelievers.  We are not to be in groups or go to places with unbelievers that compromise our faith.  If an unsaved friend asks you to get a drink at a bar you should not go.  If an unsaved friend asks you to join them at a strip club you should not go.  If an unsaved friend asks you to support abortion you should not.  If an unsaved friend asks you to go to a gay pride march you should not.  If an unsaved friend asks your support for any evil you must not do it.   Basically we were all unbelievers and it was friendship with a Christian that caused most all of us to be saved.  So we love our unsaved friends and care for them and even hang out with them.   But basically we should not get yoked and bound with unsaved friends whose ways can lead us astray. We instead are to seek in every way we can to lead THEM…….to Jesus Christ and His ways.  

 

Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.  Believers trust in the Lord Jesus Christ unto salvation.  John 3:15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  Do not make alliances with unbelievers that will compromise our faith and our walk with Jesus Christ.  8:00

2 Corinthians 6:14…..for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? How can right and wrong be partners? For what partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness?  Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.  Unrighteousness is the opposite of righteousness and goodness.  All sin is unrighteousness and we all do it even Christians.   1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  The difference is that Christ has cleansed us from ALL unrighteousness.   How can the good unite with the evil?  How can good people line up with evil people?  There is much evil in leadership today.  And many good people have gotten on the wrong track hanging out with evil people.

2 Corinthians 6:14…..and what communion hath light with darkness? How can light and darkness live together? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?  Jesus is the light of the world Satan is known as the prince of darkness even though that term is NOT in the Bible.  Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Light extinguishes darkness every time.  Truth extinguishes a lie.  Woah to those who call good evil and evil good and make darkness the light and claim they are the light.

2 Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? How can Christ and the Devil agree? What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial (Satan)? 1 Corinthians 10:21 e cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. We all know how stupid this is.  The devil and Christ do not agree on anything.  The devil is a liar and the inventor of it.  Jesus is the way and the truth.  Yet people today love lying and being lied to.  Some people would rather believe a lie than accept the truth.  Here is a truth that will be believed as a lie.  “Afghanistan was given to China by Joe Biden as he was ordered to do.  Afghanistan has rare earth minerals worth they estimate to be three trillion dollars!!!  China is there already and has been there for several months! Why?  Now we know!

2 Corinthians 6:15…..or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?  Psalms 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.  Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.  Infidels do not seek the God of creation.  Do not believe in the God who loves the world and don’t think about the God of the Bible.  They call us infidels who don’t believe in Allah!  Well the Bible calls them the true infidels!!   How can a believer in Jesus and a Godless agnostic have anything in common?  Well they might enjoy a ball game together but how can they work together on anything that requires morality and righteousness?  They look at things from two completely different angles.

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? How can God’s temple come to terms with pagan idols? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?  Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.  I love Isaiah 44:8!  God is saying….Uhh is there any God sitting next to me?  I don’t see anyone there!  Uhh maybe he is hiding?  No.  I don’t see another God anywhere and in fact I have never ever even heard of any God next to me!  This shoots down the belief by the Mormon and the JW’s that Jesus is ANOTHER God!  20:00

2 Corinthians 6:16…..for ye are the temple of the living God; For we are the temple of the living God! For we are the temple of the living God; the dwelling place of God is with His people.  1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  We are the place where the Holy Spirit dwells. We should treat our bodies with respect and not abuse them.   We should seek to be clean and wholesome and not do anything that would reflect negatively against our Lord in our bodies.  We all come in different shapes and sizes but we can all be clean and decent in our outward appearances. 

 

2 Corinthians 6:16 ……as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. As God himself has said, “I will make my home with my people and live among them;  I will be their God,  and they shall be my people.” “I will dwell among them and walk among them; just as God said: And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Ezekiel 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

 

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.  And so the Lord says “You must leave them and separate yourselves from them.  Have nothing to do with what is unclean, and I will accept you. So come out from among unbelievers and be separate,” says the Lord, “And do not touch what is unclean;  And I will graciously receive you and welcome you [with favor],  Isaiah 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.  Paul was not encouraging isolation from unbelievers but discouraging compromise with their sinful values and practices.  27:00

We were born into an unholy Alliance.  In Adam all are born sinners.  That’s the unholy alliance we have with sin.  We don’t have any choice in that…..But in Christ can all be made alive.  Praise God we can be made alive in Christ!  Have you been made alive?  Be set free forever in Christ Jesus from the unholy Alliance and the unholy trinity of sin, death and hell! And be made alive in the Lord Jesus Christ!  Christian you are holy because Christ is holy.  Live a holy life.  Make decisions that glorify Jesus Christ.  Don’t let your friends influence you….you be the influencer!  Make people think like you by being holy and friendly and a person of contagious joy in Christ!  28:04

What we do is based on personal choice.   What we know leads to understanding and making good decisions.  We know for instance that China wants the three trillion dollar rare earth minerals in Afghanistan.  We know that China is in Afghanistan.  We know that our fake president loves China.  We figure out that the United States pulled out of Afghanistan in order to give it to China.   Now it makes sense.  Now taking the vaccine is your business and no one else’s.  If you have taken the vaccine that is your decision.  I don’t want you to feel scared or alarmed. God will take care of all of us.  No one should be mandated to take this vaccine…no one!  It is experimental, it is not approved by the FDA.  But once it is approved you will have to take it.   Children and anyone under 30 should absolutely NOT take it.  But for the rest of us it’s Your choice. But realize as of today in the US it has injured almost 600 thousand and killed over 13 thousand people in America and know one says a word about that in the media.  But while there is not much we can know about vaccines and Afghanistan and China there are three things we can know and ought to know….. 1:00

2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved…. But you, my friends, greatly loved,  We are loved by Jesus.  John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  Paul loved the churches he established and those who worked with him.  Philippians 4:1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.  We know we are loved there is no doubt about it for we have the cross of Jesus Christ. 

 

Peter loved the brethren, the church and preached and taught love for each other….1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:   The theme of the Bible is love. God so loved the world.  That is the theme.  God is love so we love one another as He first loved us.  We are loved of God, God’s beloved the bride of Christ.  We are loved. 

 

2 Peter 3:17…..seeing ye know these things before,……, already know this. Be on your guard, knowing these things beforehand. What things??….2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  In Chapter three Peter was talking about the end of the world, the day of the Lord.  If they believed that Jesus could come at any moment then…… then how much more should we be looking for Him?   We ought to know He is coming because it is in the Bible. 

 

He will come like a thief and catch people sleeping in their faith.  What you do for Jesus you need to get started yesterday!  Time is so short!  He is at the door.  Mark 13:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.   Jesus return is closer than it was yesterday and the day before that….so it has never been closer.   We can know what is coming…Jesus has told us in His word. 

 

We need to be on our guard….be watching.  Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.  Jesus urged us to watch for Him while we occupy this world and do His will here.  We can know what is coming and we can do something about it.  We can know and we do know what the Bible has told us very plainly.  10:00

2 Peter 3:17…. beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked,…….. So that you will not be led away by the errors of lawless people.  Therefore, [let me warn you] be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of [c]unprincipled men [who distort doctrine]  We can fall and many do fall in their faith.  They fal…ter in their faith!  We need to beware of that.  The devil is seeking to devour us. He can’t take us to hell but he can keep us from leading someone out of hell’s clutches.  We can fall so we can’t be arrogant and say….well..I’ll never do that.  As soon as you say I’ll never do that somewhere down the road you WILL do that! WE can fall.  How do we fall?………

 

2 Peter 3:17….. fall from your own stedfastness.  and fall from your position of security and sound doctrine in Jesus Christ.  And fall from your own steadfastness [of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith]  1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  You cannot lose your salvation. It is secure in Christ we see that from over 185 verses in the New Testament.  So he’s not talking about losing your salvation but losing and turning from sound doctrine and lose rewards and standing in the kingdom of God.  John 10:28….I give unto them eternal life and they shall NEVER perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

 

How many people were once members of our churches who no longer attend.  The once were teachers, preachers, missionaries even.  The once were fired up for the Lord and His work.  What happened?  They never thought they could fall.  They were so confident in their walk that they forgot to look at the path! We Need To know That We need to know that we can fall. 

 

We can stumble and fall in the physical life and it can injure and change you forever if you break your leg, or injure your back or break a hip but you still are alive but changed forever.  We fall when we aren’t paying enough attention to the small steps we take.  If we take our eyes of the road and start to wander off the known path we can fall.  We can fall into false teaching by not paying attention to the little things like daily prayer, daily Bible reading, attending church, watching the wrong things and taking your eyes off of Jesus!   It’s the little things that make a great servant of God!  It’s the hours of prayer and Bible study. It’s the hours in the funeral homes, nursing homes, hospitals, phone and visits and now it’s texting and facebook messaging people.   A great corn stalk starts with as small kernel.  Planted in the ground and no one sees it anymore but it’s quietly at work in the soil getting ready to sprout a glorious array of golden corn!  We need to know that we can fall.  If you know that you will not do it. 

 

In baseball the difference in a hall of famer and an average player is one.   One more hit.   A hall of famer bats .300.  That’s three hits every ten at bats.  A bad player, hits .200.  That two hits every ten at bats.  You know how much hard work, hours training, the studying of other pitchers, the asking questions, the hours spent in the batting cage to get that extra hit?  No one knows because it’s all done when no one is watching!  That’s the Christian life.   All the great people of God spent the time in the dessert, spent time in the prisons of Pharoah, Herod, and Rome, spent time in the dungeon, in the whale’s belly, and in the daily walks to do great things for the kingdom of God.  We know that if we are not on guard we need to know that we Can fall…. 19:00

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, ….. But continue to grow in the grace but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace.  One of the great verses in the Bible.  Grow!  We know that we can continue to grow.  1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.  We start on milk and babies in Christ.  The basics. Then we start chewing on the meat when we get our teeth that enables us to chew. What enables us to chew on the word of God? The Holy Spirit.   

 

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  The Holy Spirit will show us all things about Jesus and sound doctrine. 

 

But grow in Grace!  But we grow in GRACE! That favorite word of Paul and Peter uses it here also.  Grace.  God’s riches at Christ’s expense!  Jesus was given for our sin debt.  He paid it.  Growth is given to us by the grace of God.  Grace is a gift. Romans 11:29  For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.  God’s gives because God loves and he does not change His mind about what He gives us in Jesus Christ!  God will never change Malichi 3:6.  Grow in the gifts of God given through Jesus Christ!  Grow in Jesus for He is the grace of God!

 

2 Peter 3:18…..and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.  John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.  Jesus can be known…… like a friend.  John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 

 

God who is our Father and Jesus who is our Lord can be known.  Remember how Moses talked with God.  Adam and Eve walked with God in the cool of the day.   God wants to walk with us and talk with us each day.  We have a Savior who not only CAN Be known but WANTS to be known.  John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  Jesus wants to come and live inside us and live with us!  Think about that?  We grow with Him dwelling in us.  Nourishment caused the body to grow.  The Holy Spirit- Jesus is the food that causes us to grow spiritually.  He is IN us. 

 

2 Peter 3:18……To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.  To him be the glory, now and forever! Amen.  and To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

 

This is the goal of our growth.  To give glory and honor to Jesus Christ.  As we give Him honor and love become blessed and full of joy.  1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.  This is the joy that we have when we are growing in Him. We ought to know that we can grow in the graced and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!   27:00

We need to know about Jesus. We can know Jesus.  We can fall or we can grow it’s our choice.  Our choices have consequences.  Good or bad.  We must know these things.  Know what we believe, Know who we believe and you will not fall…..28:04
